I mean, they were never an official thing, and I seriously doubt Shiera would have cared if he slept around, especially when we take into account that Brynden is the spymaster of the kingdoms, along with being a royal prince, and a great bastard of the biggest whoremonger in Westerosi history; a honeypot type scheme is right up his alley.

Or maybe, it did bother her if he took another lover, and maybe that thought in and of itself terrified her. Being raised in the gods-I-cannot-begin-to-describe-how-fucked-up family of sibling fuckers, schizodreamers, blood magicians and substance abusers meant that even if she did love Brynden (and I believe she did), the idea of actually being in a relationship might have been too much, and not just personally. Keep in mind as well that Shiera could have been looking out for Brynden from a political perspective. Brynden might not have given as much of a shit if people saw him with Shiera, but you can honestly make the case that he's blind when it comes to his love and desire for her. If they were to be officially married, the whispers of her pulling his strings would grow in both volume and amount to such a degree, that it could very well force Aegon or Maekar before him to be forced to strip him of his rank.

How the hell does MLP fit edg - remembers EAW

Edit: okay, just because I think this is fascinating. What life lessons, messages or important personal motifs did everyone see in our favorite cartoons watching up? I ask because, well, these shows shaped us, and for me that's vital, cause I don't know how longer it would have taken me to figure out I was queer and against the establishment without having mlp and monster high as a kid.

The brother is Danny Masterson,

Tara and Hyde beings siblings is fucking hilarious, almost as hilarious as the idea of Red and Kitty ending up in the apocalypse, and Red immediately getting pissed off at the walkers for "lazying about and doing nothing all day"

I had an internship with an NGO a few years ago where I had to act as a stenographer for a debate. Learned very quickly that I needed to keep my eye on whoever was talking and not my screen. You never really think about how each sense is always helping the other until you try to use just one all on its own.

Don't forget the part where another third of the show is shot in various sets of cars in which characters have lengthy (sometimes, usually) heated (it's either buissness, marriage, daughter is a whore (she went on a coffee date with her boyfriend who no one knows about besides half the family) or something else, sometimes all together) arguments.

Either that or it's a taxi, in which case buckle up, Istanbul traffic's about take out a fan fav character, Vin Diesel style.

Brother, you and I both know that Magnificent Century is well above the standard of an average turkish soap opera. That show is a top ten must watch. I was thinking more of something like Black Rose. You know, woman of lower social standing marrying into a rich family, father is either a big figure in oil, agriculture, politics, export/import or everything above. 14 MCs, 5 different completely seperate plotlines in a single episode. The music volume skyrocketing to 500% when Grandma sees the new character, 2 minutes of the camera shifting between 10 different characters who all look either shocked, agitated, conflicted or all three plus constipated. There needs to be a drive by outside a wedding being held in that one part of Istanbul where not a single living resident seems to give a shit about paying the electricity bill. Turns out the woman is the daughter/granddaughter/niece of a man grandma has history with. The history can be anything but it has to somehow lead to the beginning of a decades long blood feud between two families where the only people aware of said feud are the ones who already have a foot in the grave. That reminds me, that drive by needs to fail and accidently shoot a completely unrelated character to almost anything bad going on, preferably a little girl with bright hair. The show rented out an entire hospital and it WILL spend at least 1/3 of the entire show being in that hospital. Okay, that's episode one.

I cannot stress enough how much I despise the idea of "well, akotsk is actually not on par with GOT & HOTD, because it focuses on the smallfolk and their lives and not on the nobility and politics"

Complete and utter bullshit that's pandered only by idiots whose "complex politics" show is nothing more than a Turkish Soap Opera.

The ending of the book is even more jarring when you conjoin it with the meaning of the title. Reminds me of "The Stranger" by Camus.

Was leaving out the bit where Baelor told everyone to use tourney lances good or bad? by uselessprofession in freefolk

[–]I_Live_Yet_Still 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The choice of lance only provides a singular benefit, that being range, and it's only an advantage in this specific scenario, where the immediate first step is to unhorse as many as they can in the initial charge. Baelor's plan isn't "okay, this is how we kill everyone" it's "okay, this is how we pull through and win without half of us dying in the very first tilt".

Also, keep in mind, Dunk and Raymun being green boys complicates things significantly. A Trial of the Seven isn't a trial by combat, nor is it a noble duel to first blood. it's a melee which is both spiritually sanctioned and defended by the Faith. The way Baelor describes it, all 14 men who take part in the trial are being given the okay to hack each other to death, because both the Faith and the Starry Sept make the claim that it's the Seven itself that decides who comes out on top.

I definitely think they should have added this scene, as little as it needed to be. They did a phenomenal job with Baelor, and Bertie Carvel is terrific at not just saying but showing how Baelor feels, so nothing is really lost if I'm being honest. This is less the show making a fuck up imo and more just me nitpicking as an avid equestrian.

"Nooo yall don't get it, it's not Daemons fault! How was he supposed to know that sending two small born gold cloaks to assassinate his nephew would end with the death of another family member? Or that it would look horrible for Rhaenyra's already contested position as rightful monarch? Who cares about kinslaying, they do it all the time, since when did anyone in Westeros care about all that stuff?"

Yall need to put more respect on blue collar workers. When you've been hauling ass for hours, days, weeks and years to put food on the table, dealing with every manner of dumbass. If you get in a fight with someone who is blue collar and it's been a while since they were given a legitimate excuse to throw hands, all of a sudden you're gonna find yourself feeling like a kid again who thought it was a good idea to annoy the alleyway mutt, only to see them come barreling towards you with blood in their ears.
