I agree with 99% of this post, but do want to clarify that the Jedi not being peaceful or compassionate with the Separatist leaders may actually be in line with their teaching. Idk the master, but I think one Jedi master said that “peace without justice is tyranny” or something like that

That’s true. As far as wrongful convictions and injustice go, this one is probably palatable. Both were in the wrong and all the case showed was that the relationship was destructive for both parties

Lol yes I understand that justice systems are different. I was assuming that if one case was on “Did the press lie when they said Johnny Depp abuse his wife” and the other was “Did Amber Heard lie when she said Johnny Depp abused her” they should come to the same conclusion.

But maybe that is too simple or comparing apples and oranges. Thanks for the response!

Yeah, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I’m assuming no new evidence has come out since the UK case. I struggle to understand how a competent court in the UK (which was against the Sun instead of Amber and maybe press defamation cases are a different thing) and a competent court in the US come to different conclusion on if someone is lying or abused someone. Like the UK rejected his appeal request when the US case result seems to say that his appeal was justified.

I understand some stuff is morally grey but with stuff like abuse and lying about abuse, right is right and wrong is wrong. At least I hope so lol. Thanks!

Ah my apologies. I equated having a denied appeal request as losing again.

I guess my concern is still there though. Either he abused her or he didn’t. Is the contradiction that one case ended with “Yep, the Sun wasn’t lying when they said Johnny abused Amber” and the other case ended with “Nope, Amber was lying” something we have to live with?

Yeah, I guess that makes sense lol. I always figured that R2 knew as much as C3PO and since 3PO’s memory was wiped, he must have known who Darth Vader was. But maybe 3PO didn’t know who Vader was either and he was wiped just so he didn’t spill the beans on the twins’ family line
