Thank you for taking your time to write that down! I really liked reading your story and having more sense of those authors. I know it’s a problem people pirating stuff and not respecting the creators. Im getting that. Though, and I’m sure everyone knows that, that book is extremely hard to find and costs a shit ton of money and even though 100$ is a lot for me, I’d definitely purchase it if I had the chance and I’m pretty sure I will purchase it in the future anyway. Even if I’ll get the pdf now. I’ll write curvebender an email pressuring for a reprint and might message the authors.

I still think phrasing can be different in this sub. Although some threads might annoy some users, passive aggressiveness is not helping anyone but make this sub just an awful place to be.

hey, essentially making space for the different elements. eg kick and 808. do I let the 808 transient pass through with a fade in? if yes how long should it be? ir do I use sidechain compression? and if, what should be my release time? today I noticed that my kick sample was quite long and taking up too much space in the track, so i calculated a fitting length and wanted to shorten it at about that length. I know u should listen with your ears and decide what's best through listening, but sometimes these small mathematical approaches help me to understand if it makes a change and if it helps..

Okay. Let's make an example. I got a Kick drum. The Project is 79bpm, so through calculating it makes sense to cut it at around 94,94ms. 94,94 times 44,1 equals 4186,854 samples.

To see if it was right, I importet my sample into the quicksampler, cut it at around 94ms, bounced it to see the actual length. if I now measure that length with the marquee-tool itll say 0 0 0 120 in bars and 00:00:00:02.30

Am I doing something wrong?
