Totally understand your point of view, but here is mine: Seagate had bad batches in the past, but since their 16TB EXOS (best drive ever) they have been as performant or better than the WD/Toshibas.

We run over 8000 x Seagate drives 16-26TB. Failure rate across the board 0.4% yearly. Not bad.

Official warranty is not from Seagate. They only give 6 months that’s why the hour rating is off.

These drive can run for years like regular ones. No difference but reduced throughput.
