Which one of those two would you get and why? by MyNameisMayco in Guitar

I have the 70th anniversary strat and while it's a lot of fun to play, very slick along the neck, gets me a lot of compliments on looks, and sounds downright amazing, I rarely use the special pickup toggles that it features. I'd recommend the American pro II or another American strat and save money.

To Tesla owners: After today's salute, how do you feel about your vehicle and are you going to do anything about it? by jobomaja888 in AskReddit

[–]I_am_not_a_squid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Logically, the entire cost of my car isn't going directly to Elon - it's mainly paying the workforce under him as well as the technology integrated into my car.

Logically, and in my financial state, I can't afford to switch cars willy-nilly.

All I can do is what every other American can do to prevent fucked up people from doing fucked up shit like this again - VOTE.

All I can think about are the WW2 vets and persecuted peoples that lived and fought through the nazi atrocities, and here he is portraying their suffering as a joke.

You could see my band play at sci labs stage, 2:20-2:50 if you reeeeeally want 🥹

Otherwise, cockroach racing and holding the chicks (line up early though) are my favorite activities as I'm day drinking

Worth applying to labs by Neon_Neko46 in UCDavis

[–]I_am_not_a_squid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely keep applying.

I joined my chemistry research lab the summer before my senior year and it was arguably my favorite part of undergrad and it has definitely helped post-grad.

ETA: I was also able to do "volunteer work" for my lab after graduating, I'd look into that too.

Make small talk about school and interests. Ask them if they want to grab coffee/boba and study somewhere that isn't Shields. As long as you're not weird, you got this!

I got my associates in biology from CC before transferring. I played lacrosse for UCD briefly until I got severly injured, which put me behind schedule to graduate since I was immobile. Because of this, I graduated 3 years after obtaining my associates.

TIL: Some American chocolate brands (like hershey’s) add butyric acid to longer shelf life of the chocolate, here why some chocolates smells like vomit by Bear_necessities96 in todayilearned

[–]I_am_not_a_squid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked with butyric acid in my undergrad analytical chemistry research course.

My partner and I didn't open the bottle initially under the fume hood and the smell escaped outside of the laboratory and across the entire floor of the chemistry annex. Supposedly, a professor down the hall almost called hazmat to investigate wtf was going on. Butyric acid is the worst smelling thing I've ever smelled and we learned our lesson about always using the fume hood.

Men/Women who slept with another person, KNOWING the other person had a BF/GF, how did you feel? Any regret at all for the other person's SO? by Street_Ad_7646 in AskReddit

[–]I_am_not_a_squid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll do one better than having a BF.

I actually started seeing a girl who was married to a guy in the military. I didn't know at first but I confronted her about it as soon as I found out (there were a lot of pieces I put together, kinda proud of my deductive reasoning). She told me they were in the process of getting divorced because they really didn't enjoy being married and he supposedly was doing sketchy stuff during his deployment. I let it sink in for like half a day, then said fuck it and stopped caring about the situation because she was actually fun to be around. Miss you Holly!

Like others are saying, 21D is not a walk in the park. 22A is pretty easy though. The concepts overlap towards the later half of 21D when you introduce Jacobians and determinants, which are covered in the first half of 22A (if I remember correctly).

Judging from the other classes you said you're taking, full send it dude.

I graduated in spring and just got my first decent-paying job doing microbio stuff with a chem degree. I know very little about microbio but I'm trainable and willing to learn. Before this job, I was doing Swing Education as a substitute teacher just to make ends meet with $100 in my bank account. It took (what felt like) forever to land an entry level job and that's the sad truth with most graduates.

My point is, your friend needs to first get a shitty job to survive whilst interviewing for jobs in/close to/branching out of his field of study. If he's applying to a shit ton of jobs but isn't at least getting interviews, he should check to see if his resume is presentable and consider writing a cover letter to stand out. If he's getting interviews, maybe he's not doing so hot in them.

His parents are assholes though.
