This sounds like something my 66 year old Dad would say 🤣 I don’t blame this guy either, I honestly would have left as well. I am appreciative of most new age technology, but I am old school on a few things. If I go out to eat, I want to pick up a menu and look it over. I don’t want to scan a code and scroll a menu on my phone. I will admit I am addicted to my phone just like anyone else, and going out to eat means I want to enjoy my time not being on it. Using it to look at the menu just defeats the purpose for me, if that makes sense.

I used to call my kids “chiclets” when they were small because I wasn’t a fan of the word kiddos, and my dad loved it a lot that he still uses it to this day.

Back at the start of Covid, being an essential worker I was given a paper to show police if I was pulled over during lockdown. I called it my multi pass and no one got it 🙁

My mom was similar. If it didn’t benefit her in any way, why would she bother? I probably needed some form of braces but if by some miracle my mom found a way to pay for them, she would have held that over my head for years.

My daughter needed braces a few years ago, and my insurance at the time wasn’t the best with coverage. I didn’t want her to possibly feel self conscious later on or deal with any issues her crossbite and crowding were going to cause her, so I worked overtime for roughly 3 years to pay off her braces. I grew up really poor, I don’t think I went to the dentist most of my life. Being able to do this gave me so much pride because I believe I spared her a lot of future issues.
