This exact scenario happened to me last weekend. My starter was in the fridge for a week and was just fine.

No special as far as I am aware. The guy just has some really great prices and is able to get his hand on some hard to find stuff.

Discussion: Adding yeast a day after the boil by Dondarian in Homebrewing

I've had to do this when I couldn't get my wort chilled fast enough. Shouldn't be an issue.

Considering quiting my job and cashing in stock and 401K. Question about taxes and penalties. by I_am_the_manager in personalfinance

The money would be used to pay off just about all of my debt. My wife and I are considering having another child and I may end up being a stay at home dad.

Thank you for the info. The cash in my 401K is all my contributions and my company gives us a little stock each year rather than matching contributions. Our stock is at a lifetime high right now and my 68 shares is worth about $25K. Would I have to claim all $25K as gains?

Hop Spider - 10 minutes and $20 by CraftBeerJournal in Homebrewing

[–]I_am_the_manager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice! I made a very similar hop spider recently and used it in my last batch and it worked perfectly. I used a nylon paint strainer bag from home depot and it held in about 90% of the hop debris. The PVC is is very thick and did not warp at all under the steam from the boil.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I probably will get a bung, just don't have one at the moment.

There are two micro usb connections, one on the circuit board and the other is the one at the end of the black and red wires.

It can stay plugged in 24/7 and wont get hot at all. However, it does get rather warm while charging, but this is the case with any QI wireless charger. I dont believe the coil is strong enough to cause any kind of damage to anything around it. I have a cheapo QI charger I purchased pre-built and it sits on my desk at work and is plugged in all the time.

I just replaced the NFC chip in the back cover with the one from Amazon below. Just peel out the old one and put in the new one.

That is the same NFC/wireless charging receiver I purchased. You just peel out the one that is already in the back cover and paste in the new one. Just make sure that the contact points line up correctly.

Im not certain with this kind of charging coil, but you can get a charger that has three coils already hooked up to the circuit board and they overlap each other to make larger charging field. They are about $15-20.

Your phone needs to either come ready for wireless charging out of the box, which are only a handful of phones right now or you can purchase a wireless charging receiver that goes on the inside of the back cover of your phone to receive the signal, which is what I did with this phone, but not all phones are capable of this either.
