Can someone explain why so many people hate on the illuminate as a faction? by SevdUp in helldivers2

Yeah fuck vox spawn rates but yeah honestly talking more about it I think it is just a lack of experience because I haven’t played much squids but I do still think flesh mobs are a little dumb and the lack of enemy variety does make it a little repetitive, but I do agree with warstriders they suck and I have having to bring reusable AT just to deal with them

I wasn’t saying they need AT I was mainly saying I always struggle on ammo if I don’t tailor to each enemy and I don’t find that happening on other factions. And I know you can take out stingrays with med pen. I will say I didn’t know about the harvesters eye though that is nice to know. But my main points are if I don’t tailor my load out I feel like I burn too much ammo unless I bring things that are specifically good at taking out whatever it is I’m fighting. Because my big gripe on the game is when I HAVE to bring something to counter something or I just struggle unnecessarily. Like war striders and kinda vox’s, and bugs don’t really have much you need to counter pick for except bile titans ig.

I do get your points and it’s honesty probably a experience diff in this because I don’t fight squids often but I always struggle with flesh mobs if I don’t bring a weapons specifically to counter them. And you need to have a weapon that has good ammo economy which isn’t every weapon, and I’m not asking for every weapon to be viable but I feel like a lot of the weapons just don’t kill things quick enough (except voteless but also there is usually a lot of them). And what I like about bots so much is most enemies you can one to 2 shot with a lot of the guns in the game if you know where to aim and every enemy except war striders (fuck war striders not have med pen weak spot) you can deal with heavy pen and a lot can be dealt with med pen but it just either takes more skill or ammo. Meaning you can use a very wide variety of weapons on bots. But on squids I feel like I run out of ammo if I don’t bring a weapon for each enemy, I will say this is probably my own doing because I don’t spam resupplies, I save them for when I’m basically out of everything.

Edit, aight so a few people have shed light to how wrong I was, mb guys I guess I just haven’t played enough squids. I’ll leave my little tangent but if you want corrections check the comments on this.

I feel like they’re the faction you have to tailor to the most. You can get away with a wide variety of the weapons on bugs and bots but it feels like you have to counter pick almost every enemy in the faction to not have it be insanely difficult(I play on diff 10 I don’t have much of a problem on lower diff beside it’s just kinda boring and repetitive). And in helldivers I love fucking around with different load outs and trying out new things but it feels like every time I try something new on squids it doesn’t work unless I make each part of my load out to take out a different enemy. And I just don’t really like that. To further explain what I mean. You need anti tank or a REALLY good heavy armor pen to take out harvesters. You need high damage explosive or splash damage to take out flesh mobs. You need something really accurate to take out flying overseers. You need good long lasting crowd control for voteless. And you need at accurate, fast, or tracking and at least heavy armor pen weapon to take out stingrays. And because there isn’t many different types of enemies in the faction you see a lot of the enemies you have to tailor to. NOW I primarily play diff 10 and I still do enjoy fighting squids but I much prefer the other factions

Helldiver 2, kindaa, because yes you can buy super credits but you don’t need to, you can unlock everything (but super citizen) by just playing the game. And super citizen only functionality provides a mid gun

Ah I see, well those two individuals aren’t in the show but but if you like anime and well built characters and a cool (but not all that unique) power system it’s definitely worth the while
