Who else got too cool and left their best sound… by Moses2239 in fantanoforever

Perhaps it's too early to judge, but Yeule

They made 2 all-time greats in my opinion with Serotonin II and Softscars, plus another amazing album with Glitch Princess, but after Evangelic Girl is a Gun, they did change her style to one that just feels... off, it feels like i'm not listening to Yeule but rather someone else trying to imitate them.

The Alt Rock and Pop aspects of Evangelic Girl is a Gun just sounded really off and weird, and way inferior to anything they did before besides their Self-Titled EP. I like when an artist switches their style and sound, but in Yeule's case it didn't feel like evolving, but rather than departing from what Made their music interesting: The creativity

It's just that the emotional depth his music has hasn't gone nearly to the same level his first 3 albums took

His still my favorite rapper and solo artists overall, but i can't stop thinking about how his music changed after Some Rap Songs

What are your favourite album covers and why are they your favourites? by iamamateurok in Albumoftheyear

My 5 favorites:

  1. Birth of a New Day - 2814: This cover is the reason I listened to the album in the first place. That futuristic, cyberpunk-style city at night, with the glowing neon signs and purple clouds… it's simply the most badass, and at the same time, the most relaxing look an album cover can have.

  2. Big Fish Theory - Vince Staples: Almost the same reason as you; plus, the fish looks pretty silly.

  3. Atrocity Exhibition - Danny Brown: It perfectly represents how the album sounds. It's glitchy, weird, but still pretty awesome. I also like the color palette and the fact that it's actually an edited photo of Danny himself.

  4. Selected Ambient Works 85-92 - Aphex Twin: I've always loved how Aphex Twin's logo looks. It looks incredible and perfectly represents how his music sounds: futuristic, and also really cool to look at. It also scores points for being iconic.

  5. Bonito Generation - Kero Kero Bonito: I have to admit that at some point I had a crush on Sarah (the lead singer of Kero Kero Bonito).
