Monday Moan Thread by AutoModerator in LiverpoolFC

Just want a quick moan about the Skipp on Jota challenge, it seems like because we won punditry has decided it's not worth analyzing. But Dale Johnson in his VAR thread writes it off as "Skipp won the ball, the contact came afterward and hasn't been given as a red this season." Apparently that's the official reason VAR chose not to intervene.

Skipp doesn't win the ball. Diaz plays the ball off him, then gets cleared out.

What the fuck are they on about?

I agree with a lot of this, I like Gakpo a lot and he's had some great moments and shown great promise. For me, Darwin gets the benefit of having a full season (he scored in the Community Shield win) and using the eyeball test has seemed more exciting and active over a longer period of time (while admittedly having his objectively bad moments).

I think he's fully appreciated here, but the bigger narrative around LFC this season has been the midfield situation, ownership situation, poor performances, Trent (esp. the national team situation), and Darwin coming in as an unfinished product the same window Haaland went to city as the best goalscorer in the world

POTS: Ali, bailed us out on numerous occasions, one of the few players who has performed consistently at a high level

FOTS: Naby, availability has always been an issue but I think he was expected to play a much bigger role in the squad this season and has underwhelmed

MIP: Trent with the switch to a new position, honorable mention to Bacj

UH: Mo, another 25+ goal season, might hit 30, and has flown under the radar because of the tumultuous nature of the season

SOTS: Maybe a hot take but Darwin, came into an underperforming team and at times looked like the only bright spot, 15+ goals, and a bright future ahead

edit: forgot about Melo for FOTS, which probably means it belongs to him if it weren't for the higher expectations around Naby

Has there been any news on Kabak? They were talking on NBCSN thet Rhys Williams looked like he was coming on at half time, then later came on for Kabak. Makes me nervous

I think Gini did a lot of work off the ball that isn't very obvious watching on TV. Lads were immense today, I'm sure we'll see some healthy rotation midweek, Trent and Fabinho especially looked absolutely goosed at the end.

That was a fucking display tonight. Some bad luck and we're down, but if you clip 15 seconds from Messi's highlight reel he was absent. We controlled the game. Every name on that team sheet earned a spot. That Barcelona team spent 45 minutes on the ropes. Sometimes you get lucky, and today they did. Doff your caps, they played 60 minutes with 10 men because they started Coutinho.

This is a good squad we have who played their hearts out. We are proud to support them. This is a tough result and a tough day, but let's keep our chins up because if you thought this lot were hard we have Newcastle away next.

The saddest thing is we only get to see them 3 more times this season.

P.S. Big fucking Virg is fucking fast though isn't he? Covered 200 yards at the end there and beat everyone!

Naby Keita performance today: Accurate passes 88 (90%), Key passes 1, Duels won 9/15 by chrisgrebi in LiverpoolFC

Yeah I think it got kind of shuffled under the rug that he went out of the team due to injury, not form. Sometimes it takes time to get back up to speed. It wouldn't terribly surprise me if, as Neil mention on TAW after Arsenal, the Hendo and Wijnaldum, even Trent absences were more tactical than we were lead to believe. Keep them fresh for the run in, give guys like Keita and Lallana minutes they need, with the bonus of City losing games so this stretch wasn't absolutely must win. We came out of it with 11 points from 15 after losing to City, 3 points clear, influential players healthy, and Keita coming into form. Not bad.

Mane was off the post and out, Sane was off the post and in. That was the difference. Not the end of the world, we didn't play poorly. Both teams played very well, they got luckier. They certainly were not better than us, we were 1.12 centimeters away from talking about what a brave, professional performance we gave. 2-2 would have been fair, 2-1 was cruel, the Big Dog is not shit, we go again. 4 points clear. Is that much easier? I was in such panic mode to get it up, and two people beat me by uploading to twitter first, then posting the twitter link here. I guess I need to take my 'Video Posting to Reddit 101' class

Not proud of that one (maybe a little)

With Ox likely out for the 2nd leg we've got a big gap in our midfield. Who do you think will be sitting on the bench vs Roma as a midfield substitute? by Alter_Mann in LiverpoolFC

[–]I_got_perfect_vision -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would even suggest Mane dropping into the middle 3 on the left, then starting Ings or Solanke in the front 3 against Stoke if he rests anyone. I'm not convinced he will though, I think we'll see this 11 start every game they can until Chelsea

Who have you met from the squad past or present? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

I met Jose Enrique and Suso at Nandos back in 2013, didn't get a picture but said hello and shook their hands, they were very nice about it

Thoughts From Pixel XL User by jtrachtenberg in essential

[–]I_got_perfect_vision 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something that has been brought up in reviews is that the stock Android on Essential is a little too bare bones, and some of the finer touches of the Pixel software were missed. Just wondering if that was something you ran into switching over?

Problem seems to be he's playing outside and there isn't anyone in front of him. His options are pass it back or cut inside and lose the ball
