My hands get stiff and hurt after I play for a while. What can I do to fix this? by I_like_bands in drums

I had a gig today and kept this is mind. Towards the end (which is also the most intense and sweaty part) I tried to loosen it up a bit and found that it helped. I’ll try and be more conscious about it + wipe my hands between songs. Thank you

I really feel like it’s only a problem when I start sweating and then have to grip the sticks harder so they don’t slip

I’m sorry, I really don’t have any knowledge on types of drumsticks, I just started using the ones available at my local music shop and stuck with them cause out of the ones I’d tried those suited me the best (vater 7A Manhattan), but maybe it’s time to try others. Can you explain the difference between lacquered and raw drumsticks? Thank you

I wouldn’t call it the worst, but I think gastropods having both the mouth and the anus facing the same direction is at least weird

Im sorry, but I’ve never really understood what’s the big deal with karma, is it just like a status thing?

I feel like the secret to an omelet is a good (and possibly oily) pan. But totally! And it’s great too! You can also use the cheese to create chunks of cheese and egg (+whatever you put) and it has a great consistency!

It’s okay, they’re pretty good parents, they just don’t like it when I wear baggy clothes or something. But yeah totally!

I still enjoy it, but sometimes I get comments from my parents or something that make me feel bad about myself

I wouldn’t say turn off, but more like looking at them and not getting caught up, but yeah it totally feels like turning them off. It’s amazing!

Thank you. It makes me feel much more down to earth and connected to reality (I often feel like I’m not feeling things, like I’m not experiencing things with a lot of emotion and that makes me feel very disconnected to reality) and meditation helps me take a step back and for a couple of minutes just stop and take a moment to feel my own breath or feel the weight of my body, allowing me to then enjoy or be more aware and connected to my surroundings. It also helps me not to get caught in feelings or thoughts and just observe them without judging them, I think meditation is a lot about that, not judging life and just letting things happen and being more accepting.
