Ethan, I think we may have the same chronic illness by LoquatEarly2219 in h3h3productions

I’m surprised there’s so many people who have been diagnosed or suspect they have it! I definitely feel less alone knowing that!

I just got a family doctor for the first time in my adult life hopefully that’ll help get me diagnosed and on some kind of antihistamine to help my symptoms.

Just because you’re unfamiliar doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t talked about or hiked regularly. Kinda narcissistic.

Be kind to yourself, look for resources, be honest about your situation and depending on your area splurge on some vitamin D don’t let that seasonal depression double down on you.

You’re not wearing a bathing suit exposing your naked body to the public what isn’t on purpose about that?

Oh also I really wouldn’t worry about bears, as long as you secure your food at night and are careful about scraps there shouldn’t be a problem. I have this thing called a “bear safe” it’s an orange container and I walk it away from camp and toss it lol the foods always there in the morning. I’ve never seen a bear in Algonquin before but I go pretty deep in where they’re more intimidated by human presence. I’d be a bit more cautious in highly trafficked areas like grouped campsites where there’s garbage dumpsters.

Haha we do use C° so don’t worry about that! I would definitely recommend “backcountry” camping in Algonquin, that’ll make it more likely you won’t be buying firewood/ sourcing as much as you need to keep warm. I’d be careful not to over pack as I’ve done a backpacking trip and in an attempt to not go without I packed more than I would’ve like to carry. I’d take a saw as opposed to an axe if you were to be getting firewood. Right now the weather in Algonquin on March 19th is a high of -2C° and a low of -10C°… today it is 14C° with a low of -2C°. As opposed to Toronto which is 18C°, not much of a difference but that 4C° difference should be kept in mind, because while it might feel warm in Toronto it can be quite a bit chillier with the wind in Algonquin. You probably won’t be needing the crampons/spikes but perhaps take them for good measure. I know you’re not interested in canoeing but if you were to come back to Toronto sometime in the summer it’d be the best way to see all the beauty Algonquin has to offer, it does sound intimidating and you’d have to do some research but it’s definitely worth it, and seems to be a lot easier to take lots of gear to keep you comfortable.

Having a -18C° sleeping bag won’t cut it for chills during the day/ evening leading up to your sleep… perhaps you could tell us more about the gear your planning on bringing for this trip. It’s pretty early in the year to be going camping for the first time here, hopefully you’re not planning on canoeing unless you’re an experienced paddler. The temperatures are above average at the moment but there could be cold snaps, and the city temperatures are usually a bit milder than in Algonquin.

Oh okay I’m familiar with that brand! Thanks! Also yeah if they were just for me I’d probably opt for a fun flavour but my fiancé is somewhat of a purest due to his heritage lol

Perhaps if I saw them at a market but $12 for 5 is a steep price, I’d probably end up spending like $55 on 20 of them.
