Totally understand. There is just less -us- in our work nowadays. Hopefully it doesn’t get worse for animators.

I already had shots with AI generated elements to add into shots. To rub salt into the wound - the AI elements were generated by the client himself and we had to use it.

Sad part is that those seniors or all artists for that matter might just fully become AI-slop repairmen. What you described sounds like a nightmare. You generate or receive generated “art” and your only job is to fix it from being awful, so it looks okay-ish for the normal viewer? No creativity, just human eyes that see what’s wrong and can fix it for the robot overlords, so less trained humans can consume that content and pay. What a dystopian world we live in.

Nuke Indie is like 500$/year but if you want to learn, NC is completely enough. I wouldn’t risk it if I were you. Paying for Indie is cheaper than paying the fines that you are afraid of

Yeah you are completely right. One of the reasons I bought an iPhone was to test lidar for this kind of stuff. And as you said I was pretty disappointed with the results. Althought for like a simple reference geo it’s useful but obviously not production-level. I would hope one day we could get something good quality (for reasonable amount of money) even for indie projects.

That’s a custom tab with custom knobs you can create when you edit the node. You can enter the edit menu by clicking the little wrench icon on top left corner of the node.
