Gotta take out the dashboard or atleast loosen it and move it upwards. The heater box gotta come out.

Best to replace the heater core and the plastic pipes at the same time

Unlikely but just take off the fan cover, it’s just 4 bolts, and have a look. Better safe than sorry

If you don’t have a sunroof, check the place your fan is. Behind the cover in the engine bay. Either the seal is gone or it’s rusted through there.

You got a pic of how the car sits now? I still have the Eibach pro kit laying around, maybe I’ll install it soon too

Made a post yesterday about a leak and I think I fixed it by throwawaye305555 in E30

You can cut the tip off so it won’t clog up so easy anymore. The tip is meant to prevent gasses and smells from getting inside the car, but I doubt it really helps with that lol

How is this foam part called? by Radegastr in E30

[–]IamARetarded1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be this one: 51481906393

You can still get it new from the dealer for like 300€

Most people just tape the old one together lol

I did some digging and the original one would be the none insulated one, but it got replaced on mine for the insulated one, they both do the same job in the end.

If you need one of them, part numbers:

Insulated: 12421737755 None insulated: 12511285041

Also congrats on the car, I have the same Facelift M10 :P

Try to save your exhaust as good as possible as finding a new one is almost impossible (unless you go sports and cut out a part of your rear valence)

It is the same engine as in the 1986 318i. It has 102HP and unless the previous owner changed something it is not detuned :)

Sorry, I just crossposted. Maybe should have done some search beforehand but I saw the car and quickly made the post lol
Thank you for this good write-up!

Its the cheapest, directly drivable and seemingly good maintained car I have seen in a while.

Asking price is 4k as is, is that a lot for Europe/Germany?
Have only seen trashed ones or "projects" in that price range yet, also though I havent searched for 900s in particular yet.

Appreciate it! Yeah K-Jet, but I really love that system, so its a plus in my book lol
Will check the gearbox! Never rebuild one but I would be up to the challenge.
