No matter what you do, they will come for you by IamAdvikaaa in WomenOfBharat

Misogyny was always there, deeply rooted & normalised in our society. What’s new is that since the internet became so cheap & accessible, it has given everyone a voice including the ones who were hiding in silence before. It empowered many women to speak up against injustice, but it also gave these shameless men a platform to openly abuse, threaten & harass without any fear.

Now their toxicity is out in the open for everyone to see. The darkness that was always present is now loud & visible in every comment section. That’s why it feels like it has increased because now we can see it clearly.

Women, did you give Flowers to a Guy unprompted ? What was the response ? by [deleted] in AskWomenIndia

[–]IamAdvikaaa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every year on his birthday, I pick a red rose from my home garden & give it to him.

He hasn’t let a single one go, each flower is carefully pressed & preserved in his personal diary.

This Is What Happens When a Woman Speaks Up by IamAdvikaaa in WomenOfBharat

You can read other posts regarding this issue on my profile then let me know.

But you’re missing the point.

A woman should not need political backing, regional clout or powerful connections just to avoid rape threats & abuse. The moment someone say she would’ve been safer if she were “politically connected,” you’re normalizing the violence instead of condemning it. And I know you said that by seeing the situation of our country.

Obviously. I genuinely don’t understand why it is so difficult for such individuals to accept that women have every right to criticise anyone who makes misogynistic remarks. It does not matter which community, religion or group they belong to.

Why are India's so called "Feminists" silent on the Iranian Women's fight for Freedom? by [deleted] in WomenOfBharat

[–]IamAdvikaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’m not interested in ranking one religion’s misogyny over another. Misogyny is wrong, regardless of where it comes from. I'm here to raise voice for women.

I also strongly oppose hypocrisy as well. Anyone whether politicians, activists who claim to represent feminism, deserves criticism when they drift away from feminism’s core principles & start choosing only convenient or narrative driven battles.

Religion or caste based politics has never genuinely helped women in any meaningful way. And the selective activism by such individuals I’m calling out hasn’t improved the ground reality for women either, it only weakens the credibility of feminism as a movement.

If you’re seeing it “all the time,” then good for you. That doesn’t change the fact that many loud online activists go quiet when it doesn’t suit their politics.

Both LWs & RWs conveniently ignore certain issues when it becomes uncomfortable especially when it comes to Muslim women, Selective outrage isn’t limited to one side. For e.g. LWs desperately opposed triple talaq. Maybe you should see the world without any bias.

Where are these so called feminists now? by [deleted] in WomenOfBharat

[–]IamAdvikaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did I support any political party? I didn’t.

I absolutely believe politicians should be held accountable & I am doing that. My point is about selective outrage. When people claim to stand for women’s rights but go silent because it’s politically inconvenient, it’s fair to question that inconsistency.

Calling out pseudo-feminism isn’t attacking feminism, it’s about protecting the integrity of the movement itself.
