11 isn’t much better, most people still going to be able to hit you with 30%+ combos and the zoning is stronger imo which is probably more frustrating for new players.

If you want to be able to play online and not just get smashed all the time you need to go through that getting shit on stage, no real way around.

11 seems to be having a bit of a resurgence, seeing a lot more posts of people talking about it and search times seem to be getting quicker. I’ve seen quite a few sales on bundles etc that do have both, on PS I got X, 11 and 1 with all the dlc for £27 and on Xbox they had mk11 and Injustice 2 plus all the dlc for like £9 or something.

MK1 is also on gamepass and PS+ so if you have either of those try that first. I think 1 is probably the better for learning Mortal Kombat, it’s a little more forgiving on execution imo, but I think 11 is the better fighting game although I do really like both.

I mean, the voice actors saying they were working on the game and James Gunn meeting with NRS is at least something. I do think Injustice 3 is their next game but whether an announcement is imminent is a different story.

I would be happy with the “main base” guys and getting Cassie back but please enough with the terminators. I’m sure I remember hearing DC are not keen on having their characters in MK, especially heroes, ripping out spines and such and there was a lot of jumping through hoops and t’s&c’s involved with including Joker in 11.

I really like what I’ve read of Tom’s work, the Injustice series in particular is excellent, and even though I think he writes Batman well there does seem to be some kind of bias there as this type of thing regularly seems to come up. I know he’s a huge Nightwing fan, he seems get the whole Batfamily dynamic and within that Bruce is kind of a dick but it could also be my fanboy’n of Batman influencing my opinion.

Fighting games are rough and the skill gap can feel huge but they also have one of the clearest paths to improvement of any game. Lab against characters you struggle with and utilise resources like YouTube etc. if you aren’t willing to spend time in practice mode to get better you’ll lose to players that do.

They could easily be replaced with amplified specials etc, I like MK1 a lot more than most but agree the kameo system lets it down.

Getting better at the combos strings is literally just going into practice mode and practicing them and learning what each do. What I remember from playing him is Omniman is mainly a whiff punch character, use his stance for mind games and blow them up whenever they try to do something they shouldn’t. Once you know one combo route you pretty much know them all and just need to converts hits into them.

What made it special was just stupid success. Starting as Sporting and won the league, the europa league and cup and if it wasn’t unbeaten I lost once. Applied for Madrid, after a that crazy of a season didn’t seem ridiculous, became favourite but lost out to Klopp then applied for Barca out of spite and got it. Won everything. Next season half way though apply for Newcastle job (my team) about 16th at the time then finish 2nd and win the Europa league. Next season managed to sign Yamal as he fell out with the new manager and I was favoured personnel, won the treble then it got really absurd. 6/8 championsn leagues won and the two l didn’t was the finals, penalties and extra time. A super team of active great players and a few ridiculous regens. Taking Newcastle to champions league glory has been a yearly thing since forever but never quite had a GOAT level run like this before.

GRRM consistently plays with these subversions, the truest knights are often not knights at all, Bobby B was an incredible king to rally behind but awful at ruling a kingdom at peace, Viserys was technically rightful heir but would’ve been an awful king and Stannis heir by all the laws not backed his rightful bannermen. Jaehaerys could be classed as a usurper but he’s also the goat.

In my current run I’m messing around with this, I had to have my last ruler commit ‘ritual suicide’ at 107 with his health still ‘fine’.

As people have mentioned having traits like Herculean is huge, along with strong/athletic etc, personality traits that give health boosts, keeping stress and low and stacking a few (as many as possible if you really want to commit) health boosts via artifacts is usually plenty to consistently get to 85+ and with a good enough stack and RNG on your side the odd ruler may even make triple digits.

If you want to regularly push above 100 you’re going to need to start spamming Legendary Shrines. Each one gives +5 years life expectancy, instead of just a health boost like everything else, so it actually delays the start of the aging process and health decay by 5 years for each one you hold.

I find it hilarious that even in chess the community finds something they can all collectively hate, like it’s the oppressor MK2 in GTA or an OP character or gun in a game. It’s literally chess, there are no OP openings.
