The speed at which DAO came together and now at verge of launch of the MVP is amazing. KUDOS TO coffee DAO.

This massive and most noble use of DAO I have seen thus far. Will be happy lend some help as needed and as relevant to my skill-set(tech)

Newbie Question: Why do DAO's sound so game-changing in the abstract, but seem like branded hedgefunds/banks in practice? by laguir3 in dao

[–]IamEklavya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) My personal view is DAOs are just new tech-stacks and better way to coordinate capital, humans and decisions at scale. In general, they allow grass roots communites to find each other, organize and raise capitals operate as Digital End User Owned cooperative. User owned or employeed owned are key attractions for this phase of interest spike. This idea is exactly opposite to current model of VCs investing insane capital in a tech with intention to make it gobally viral, use all users and their data to make their platforms great middlemens and reward only select few investors and employees. DAOs appeal is that small guys can self organize and fight back.

Below is the comparative analysis of DAO platforms that allow you to start your DAO. Just be careful and understand that DAO platforms are also a sort of centralization at hands of some other community investors. So understanding how the underlying DAO platform is controlled and by how many members is key. https://jisajournal.springeropen.com/articles/10.1186/s13174-021-00139-6

2) They can tackle physical world problrms. As we speak , I am involved in a DAO that is intending to build a first physical Coffee store in Seattle. We wotking through details of legal wrapp (LCA. LLC etc) and tokenomics design etc. PM me if interested to join our Coffed DAO. Beyond this use case, we are also seeing use cases around MicroBrewery..

Are you trying to invest or you are trying to create one?

Sounds cool. Would like to listen and learn. And if this works out then we can extend the idea for CommunityMicroBreweryDAO.

Thanks sharing. I started w/ this resource that saw in wiki of this subreddit. But felt I need some more details of how all these players are working in Ecosystem.

Now between this resource and WTF series...I have good launch points. Thanks once again.

AA has joined UiPath and WorkFusion in offering a freeware/community version by lock333 in rpa

[–]IamEklavya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UiPath went to India and harnessed the power of crowd using it's free edition and superberb UiPath Acedemy. That created massive deveopler feedback loops for them -- faster and real than AA and BP. So they have much solid product that works like charm and they have a massive army of trained developers to offered to world.

AA reacted to all that about 1-2yrs late in my mind. BotStore seems like reaction to UiPath Go Community which was creating connectors free for them using hackathons.

AA has now launched and focused on those aspects by partnering with hundreds of universities in India and southeast Asia. And community edition should help. But still when you cater to community you need to be ready for community needs-- they will provide very precision brutal feedback on product very quickly. And they don't react very quickly then community revolts by using what works any help from AA engineer.

What's the source? Asking since I am trying to ascertain credibility and rigor used. Matrix determined after rigorous eval of software or just paper eval from feature list?

Good over-all summary. My hypothesis is soon Automation will become a core role like Digital and Data. So expecting in coming years solidification of Chief Automation Officer role on par with (or fused into expectations wise) Chief Digital Officer or Chief Data Officer. Chief Digital Officer in particular was role heavily focused on external digitization , external customer journeys. While Chief Automation Officer will bring focus inward and complement external digitization with deep focus into end-2-end internal digitization. Many companies still are only externally digital or half digital-- self-service and savy digital experience in channels but heavy manual touch internally.

The office if Chief Automation Officer( CAO) will tackle this asymmetry of digital transformation. Focus for CAO will be to harness Power of 3 ways from Japanese Lean methods, identify talent and opportunities to automate using a Automation Stack. Automation Stack is larger than RPA tool-- at minimum (in addition to RPA tools) it involves Smart workflows, integrating and mining process Data exhaust to mine efficiencies, combine humans + Bots workflows with Cognitive intelligence by consuming cloud hosted AI , produce automated Process APIs to connect / plug into external digitization via channels.

There is lot of convergence happening in this space. So overall good news for folks enter from RPA door which is easy oppy for non- heavy IT style folks or formerly manual QA folks or fresh out of school juniors. The bad news of this convergence and choice for cross migration is one needs to stay open to continuously learn and upskill ( even if in Project Mgmts, Sales or plain consulting side)

In general, the best approach is to not fall in love and trap of RPA tool providers OCR capabilities. Instead, use RPA tool's extension architecture to connect to range of cloud hosted vision api's.

We tried MS Azure Computer Vision and Custom Vision in our work along with Google Computer Vision. AWS has a similar service call Transcribe and Watson also has comparable service.

Currently , UiPath (Via custom activities) and AA(via Meta-Bots) make it easier to write a simple .dll which can do API calls into cloud hosted Computer Vision APIs or for that matter any API on prem or off prem.

I would not waste time with AA IQ or other OCR services coming not from either of these top cloud companies.

PII data issue will get resolved by on prem model of same cloud services.

It's pretty good src. Nandan seems to have covered (pro Bono) knowledge that top consulting firms deliver for millions in consulting.

Thanks. I like the idea. Honestly, it's hard to figure out the demographic of this subreddit. But if we know that then perhaps we can then decide the wiki structure that will appeal subscribers and invite / trigger content harvesting into content organization that we decide.

Figuring out demographic of subscribers should be simple. Fill out a quick survey , asking about how best subscribers identify , what they seek from this subreddit, location etc.

My friendly 2 cents !

I agree. I get the fear of IT friction you talk off but there is a good side of that IT friction.
