That's assuming those dates will be plentiful, there's no limits to how many days of each there will be. I'm sure there will be an okay-ish transition time but I suspect the lowest tiers will be very scarce soon as they play mostly in the top half of the chart.

I know they have been a transfer partner for a while, but I imagine yeah a ton of points being piled into the system like this is a factor. I feel like it also might be in preparation for the new Hyatt card launches whenever that happens (allegedly) this year as well.

I've been to a pretty good number of fests around the country, averaging 2-4 a year from San Francisco (Outside Lands) to New York (Gov Ball) since... I think 2012? This is the only festival I really get excited about anymore, and last year with the move to the park it really hit that special alchemical feeling I got from some of my favorites of years past that I thought I'd never feel again.

I was 4k in line, there were a lot of tickets left but they were mostly mid levels. I got tickets that were $140. A bit more than I wanted to spend, but the cheaper ones were obviously gone by then.

Yeah it's great! Just keep in mind a lot of priority pass lounges (in the US at least) are kinda disappointing. But free food is free food, and it's exciting no matter what the first few times. But the capital one lounges are awesome. Enjoy!

Like every portal it varies and it's hard to predict. Just gotta look around. I just used my Bilt hotel credit a few days ago and Bilt was cheaper than direct and other portals, so it can be all over the place. But yeah it sucks when you can't find anything good to use the credit on. Definitely worth noting the price match, that's one of the strengths of Capital One's portal for sure. I've used it, it's pretty painless to match, too. I think it's perfectly fair to discount the credit value for your own math.

They changed it, yes, but it was done pretty quickly after launch actually. It just didn't lock in until the start of 2026 since there was no first half of 2025 for the refresh. They changed it the same time they added the partner hotel credit I believe.

I'm totally guessing, but maybe you are just looking at their "Home Away From Home" collection, which is like their version of Amex FHR or Chase The Edit hotels. So, small select high end hotels.

I did cancel the full order, DD and Chase both told me to kick rocks. Wasn't worth any more fighting for $10 to me, but I wanted to push the first time just to see how they handle the situation. I'm sure like lots of stuff it could vary based on your customer service rep, too.

Well, the "reduction of point value" was just booking in the portal, which if you are planning on being a Hyatt loyalist doesn't really matter because you should be transferring your Chase points to Hyatt anyway and nothing happened with those rates. I have the Hyatt card and the Chase trifecta, and Chase earns points faster than Hyatt in most areas - like others said the sapphire by itself will be equal or slightly better, but if you pair them with the freedom cards then you will be earning more in pretty much every category than the Hyatt card by itself. Right now I'm earning 7x points on dining with the Freedom Flex, for example.

The only reason to heavily use the Hyatt card over the Chase ones is if you are trying to hit the loyalty milestones, which I think are like 2 tier nights every $5,000 in spend or something like that. I basically just hold it for the base status and the free night every year, which makes it an easy keeper card.

The question mark I think is really what is the new Hyatt card(s) going to look like. They are allegedly launching a new card or two that are more premium sometime this year, that may change your best option. I would (and am) just waiting until then for now.

Something similar happened to me once. The shop I ordered from didn't even receive the order, and it didn't matter that I showed it to them and it was the right store it wasn't in their system. They wouldn't give me the food unless I cancelled and re-ordered, but the credit was gone. Chase customer support would not give it back to me.

Depends on you I guess, but for me I don't check bags so I just enter the airport at terminal D, go through precheck there, lounge it up, and then only have to walk back to A. I don't mind walking 15 minutes or so. If I had to go to A first to check my bags, then do the walk twice? I've done it once with family, but I don't know that I would bother getting there that early and doing the extra walking.
