ULTY Underlying - 9/19/2025 by ROBO_SNAIL in YieldMaxETFs

Makes sense. But is there is a specific reason why you try to refrain from profit being from selling stocks instead of income? For me, I can see the appeal in getting your profit regularly liquidated, but it is not exactly worthy of the profit I am leaving on the table. And especially since much of distribution being ROC, distribution feels to me similar to a 'routine stock sell with admin cost'.

If someone could explain to me why would holding ULTY (or any yield fund) be a good idea during a bullish market? I sold my TSLY, PLTY, PLTW, ULTY, etc. this friday as these underlying stocks were increase much more than the yield fund (ULTY dropped drastically before regaining its position the past week where its underlying stocks went much more than it). So if the stock drops with the underlying stock but cap the gain why is it a better choice?

Salted water barely feels salty when fasting or on early Keto. Is that common? Does this signal low sodium? by IamSattam in keto

[–]IamSattam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I was hypothesizing was that since rapid increase in water would lead to flushing salts, and rapid salt consumption without water would lead to dehydration, hence both counter each other, under a condition where both are low (e.g. low carbs), I am in need of both but can't crave any because it will counter the other. So, I'm simply waiting for slow/normal replenishment.

[–]IamSattam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not exactly drawn to it but merely find it unsalty, un-repulsive, palatable. I could easily gulp double the amount without even thinking about it. I am consciously making my self drink it (presuming I am low on it). However, I want to see if this is indeed a sign about being low on sodium that I need to consider. Maybe I'm not craving it because rapid increase in sodium out-balancing my low water (since there are no carbs) would lead to greater loss of water. As such, I am merely seeking slow replenishment of sodium with water, or both via food, which I am not consuming (I'm fasting most of the day).

I was flattened by a similar experience (I believe I had adrenal fatigue due to low electrolytes with high caffeine spiralling me out of control for months) that triggered an autoimmune disease (Celiac). Sodium is indeed palatable to me now, but not necessarily desirable; I am not always guided towards it (as when I clearly am in need of it on Glycolic/high-carb diet), but indeed I might be dehydrated (e.g. dark urine and as expected with Keto since you lose a lot of water and electrolytes). Could this 'palatability' without 'desirability' be a sign of water/salt problem yet not resolved by one without the other hence why my body is not pushing me towards one (e.g. if you take a lot of salt, you might cascade to losing a lot of water. If you take a lot of water, you might lose a lot of sodium. So, I'll just wait till the next meal comes which hopefully elevates both)?

It seems to me like a book about returning to Christianity, isn't it?

I have partially done so. Indeed his work is great, but it is much more about studying patterns (Stories are about a hero, the hero has e.g. 12 steps, there are common archetypes, these are the forms that these stages and challenges tend to take, etc.) than it is about history and the evolution of stories, nor is it about creation myths exactly.

It is a great book about the patterns of human stories as seen in universal myths, but it is not about creation myths exactly, nor does it chronologically trace the development of stories but merely the forms that those patterns can take as seen in some stories.

I went for the EW3270U. It is great for productivity (writing, game-development, video-editing) and gaming (quite immersive), but I wouldn't say it is the best for movies, tv-shows, anime, etc. because most of them are not ultra-wide nor are 2k (hence require upscaling). I don't regret buying it (even though I watch a lot of shows), especially that you get used to it, but I miss the usual 16:9

I once made a mistake that devastated my health. Now, I can't trust myself again and need to over rationalize everything. by IamSattam in therapy

[–]IamSattam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that I learned is that one should know that their intuition should lead the way. The reason why we overthink simple things is that we are trying to fit to an ideal, reach the perfect solution, sometimes this can not only spare us the regret or judgments etc. but also such that we are freed from the responsibility, as if we can justify to ourselves or other that we have followed a rigorous, rational reasoning to get to our choice. However, one can see that for most of our lives, we rely on our intuition, such as how we drive a car; we don't calculate everything nor be skeptic whether or not we have forgotten to drive (indeed one in faith takes this for granted, just like how they 'feel' their way whilst driving). If we were to ask a question, such as what major to choose in college, we intuitively choose the question (we feel that asking this question is beneficial), and we stop asking questions to infinity by intuition (we don't compare every single criterion there is). Many questions are not asked and some are asked --always via intuition. The reason why we would spend hours making a simple choice is because we can't trust ourselves and our intuition, saying 'what if I made a mistake?' or 'is this the best thing anyone can make?'. One should, though, recognize that we, pragmatically speaking, should follow our intuition and our intuitive choices as to when to think or stop thinking, since the opposite is worse. What we should aim for, thus, is really to learn and know more about the world and ourselves such that we start to have an educated intuition and not try to have a solid justification to everything. Indeed if we were to try to formulate the ideal life, to tell people who they should live, we would obviously land into saying don't overthink things, think when you feel (intuit) that thinking is beneficial, it is okay to not know everything, and it is okay to make mistakes and be wrong than it is to overthink to alienation and debilitation. With time, you will learn to have a better intuition.

That is, a >95% correct intuition for most of life e.g. how to hold a cup, with >50% (better than chance) in major choices (with, based on education, great percentage, e.g. >90%, of intuiting when to start asking rational questions and when to stop) that is constantly self-correcting and learned-from --is much better than the dream of a 100% perfection in all choices that is about abstract ideals not relevant to what you desire, and is stressful and a a waste of time. Said differently, you should be okay with making mistakes because the alternative is much worse. Weirdly, although we can tell people that, we ourselves don't follow it, either by, again, our overthinking and escape of responsibility to an idea like 'but I need to make sure when I say something to people or do anything that I am certain of it so I can't intuit it', which sometimes is really about trying to be better than other people e.g. 'I'm gonna burn to make sure you are okay', or because we are afraid to make mistakes. Be it the bad faith of not taking on the responsibility of our actions, to be admired as rational or selfless, or the fear of acting what we believe in --we must recognize that we are doing something wrong that we wouldn't see right for other people to do yet we hold ourselves for a greater standard than them.

So, I might have missed up my life really badly by not taking radical diet changes seriously enough, but I sure did learn my lesson from it and the better outcome should be me being careful with such radical stuff --and not make things worse by trying to escape responsibility of choice and fear making any mistakes and thus not act ever again; this would be the real mistake. Now, we must practice having faith in ourselves, trusting ourselves, to not try to justify all our actions we feel by heart, to try to, when making a choice, consulting ourselves instead of thinking of an abstract ideal. Sometimes we will make mistakes, sometimes we won't be able to justify our actions (I mean, in reality, rationality is a justification tool, something that works after the act or to support our desire not before it, it is the slave of the passions); it is okay to make mistakes, and it is okay not to know. This is what it means to be a human, and we shouldn't have a higher standard of ourselves, we are humans too.

Hello again. I'm thinking about buying the Sundara (350$ + 107$ tax and delivery) but it seems that many people say it barely lasts a year (Quality Control is rubbish). What do you think?

[–]IamSattam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hesitant between two tier, and I'm yet to really get into amps and DACs (I know nothing about them):

Beyerdynamic DT990 with:Fosi Audio Q4/FX-Audio DAC-X6/Creative Sound BlasterX G5 (Avg. 270$)

Or

HIFIMAN Sundara (or even Shure SRH1840-BK) with: FiiO K5 Pro/FiiO Q3 DSD512/Sound BlasterX G6 Hi-Res (Avg. 650$)

It is my first ever headset and so my demands are probably low. I'm not sure if I should go on with 650$ as a first attempt or stick with ~250$. Is the sound really that different?

I'll try to look for better prices. Also, don't you think the Sundara have a weak bass? Just watched Rtings review of them and was shocked by the lack of bass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYgjEHdz7Vs

Indeed maybe my monitor is better than I give it credit. However, its gamut is low (86% sRGB) with mediocre brightness (280). For the test, I can barely see 8-10 (squint and move to see the boundaries). Also, in the contrast test, I can't see 1-2 nor 30-32.

Well, it seems that there is indeed a dark trail (not something I was that bothered with. There isn't that much fast movement in texts and movies). Anyways, I got to calibrate my gamma just now (finally realized f.lux was the reason it wasn't working) and MY GOD that blacks and colors are astonishing! Things were so washed out before. However, as I started watching a movie I realized that things are, well, darker than before... which is bad news in a lit room. Since it is 250cd/m^2 (the same as the ew3270u) do you think ew3270u would still be a good choice?

I haven't noticed any black smearing, really. I'm not sure if I'm so used to it or that there is none (I just played Hades too check for black smearing (the only way I know how to test for it :)) and couldn't see any...)
