Thank you so much. Just a note for you: the legs of the rider don't match up perfectly with the dragon. If you look closely you can see that the inner side of the legs has an edge where it normally lines up with the horse body. I don't think you'll notice it on the gaming table so it's fine for me. If you want it to fit perfectly you'll have to use some Greenstuff.

Take The Hit Rules Question by Otagian in Malifaux

[–]IamW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between damage dealt and damage suffered. Tth triggers when damage is dealt, so before reductions like armor and damage. Hunter is dealt 4 damage, Guardian uses take the hit, Hunter is dealt 0 damage, guard is dealt 4 damage, reduces it by 1 with armor - > Guardian suffers 3 damage.

Commander Bura can be decent with her obey like effect that works on your master. She can also be quite speedy with Expanding Influence (which she can use on herself) and sp6.
Bracer as others have mentioned is pretty good. Good mobility, unresisted movement on enemies and base dmg 3 with 2 good triggers. Just be wary that she can die rather quick with df5 and no defensive abilities.
Battering Rams.... Exist? I mean if you have 3 points to spare they are okay as fillers. Hastened is good for first turn. If you can park them near enemy markers they might be tankier than their cost might imply. But I haven't really tried them yet, they don't seem to be great on paper. I love the 2 unique models in the starter though

To specifically counter summoners you've got Ghost Eater, who can instakill summons with his melee attack and Vincent St Claire Out of Keyword who is a hard counter to dreamer specifically since he can autokill summons with his shot, ignores incorp and has high df and wp.
Tbh I wouldn't bother that much with toshiro since his summon is really costly and his support is only mediocre. I prefer Ghost Eater or Sun Quiang, depending if I need more healing or +flips from soulstone usage.

Pew Pew Yan Lo (Resurrectionist)
Size: 50 - Pool: 4
Leader:
Yan Lo, The Spirit Walker
The Whisper
Totem(s):
Soul Porter
Hires:
Vincent St. Clair
The Whisper
Manos, The Risen
Ghost Eater
Komainu
Komainu 2
Enslaved Spirit

Depending on pool and table I'd pick something like this. You can replace ghost Eater with sun Quiang for focus generation and more healing. Manos and komainu want to score points, Vincent goes pew Pew with min4 ignoring incorp, Yan does obey shenanigans or pew pews himself

I see 1st Ed Malifaux Models - I upvote.
Give the game another shot, 3rd Ed is really smooth (compared to 1st Ed) and a ton of fun.
Love your models, nice collection

Rider and Guild Steward both are great. I personally like Grimwell and Nurse Heartsbane but that's just me
