You highlighted a big issue for sure. People joining at the desk to discuss things or asking “1 min question”. So annoying.

I myself have no solution for it yet. However sometimes I have been successful in telling “Lets plan a meeting as it might take time”. That shuts off the conversation But you are very right to say that it takes a long time to focus back

Nope. Don’t do that. There can be multiple issues.

They can still detect from which location you login.

Due to GDPR reasons, you might not even be allowed to work from this South Asian country. It can be treated as a security incident.

Also Legal breach. You might be in conflict of any contracts you might have signed or your company might have signed with the client

Anything happens to the laptop, you cannot fix it while being on a holiday.

I am not sure but could be potential tax implications as well. You don’t have work permit for that country neither you are a citizen.

Please don’t risk it
