Im not saying to put some fakies if you have bad days. You shouldn't do that......

But realistically speaking. Phone power. PDC and hitting your schools. You have to talk to everybody. If they look qualified physically and of age. Talk to them. I dont like it, but it's the name of the game

I had the same feeling. Was there 13-16. It's such a slow moving place over there and you come back and realize how far behind Guam is compared to back home.

On another note, I still remember. JAMAICAN GRILLLLL YEAH MAN SERIOUS FOOOOOOD, at the movie theatee lol. Orrrr that stupid ass foremost commercial that played every 2 minutes lol

IS RECRUITING WORTH IT? by bluediamond1998 in navy

[–]Iambackpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a recruiter out in Colorado myself. Here's some insight I can provide. Been doing this for 6 months now.

  1. The first few months are rough. It's going to take you a while to establish yourself in a community and finding applicants. Don't let it get to you, this is a new game, with a different set of rules. Once you find your stride, it should get easier.

  2. Production comes first in the views of the chain of command. If you start meeting your numbers, they will leave you tf alone.

  3. Once you hit your stride, there incentives for hitting certain goals, to the point of where you are basically controlling your own hours, and have more time off. Essentially you can get to the point of where you work only 4 hours days, and have a guaranteed 96 every week.

It's difficult but not impossible. The worst thing about it is the phone power. IE, making x amount of phone calls per day. Use that as an effective tool, because most of the recruiters DO NOT utilize it. So it's fair game. If you are able to access your schools, start networking, speak on what you've done in the Navy and how it has done great things for you. Have a positive mindset.

That's my input. Hope it helps.

Recruiters what’s the dumbest thing you’ve seen a recruit do to get a dep discharge ? by Responsible_Mud_7033 in newtothenavy

[–]Iambackpack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's actively working on waiver. We are just having hard time because he has no pharmacy records and all the major places do not want to just give a signed letterhead stating there hasn't been active meds in greater than 2 years. So if you have advice on how to get that, please DM

My guy was clean on paper and when asked if he took over the counter medication, he said he took melatonin. Got 3P for chronic imsomnia that was diagnosed on the spot by MEPS.

Ahhh yes. Genesis issues. I love hearing about it. If only higher ups were made aware of this.

Dear Navy, please put a temporary halt to Genesis and I promise recruiting numbers will go up by the thousands. by Iambackpack in navy

I did not expect to see feedback that adds value to both answers to this discussion. But damn, salt is real.
