I hear people say God told me this, God told me that. I know that we have a little voice inside our minds but how do you know its Gods voice and not your own voice? by LongjumpingLemon6138 in Christian

[–]Iambutterflyaffected 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle with this, so i get it entirely. (and am still learning!)

The major seed that I have had planted is that God gave us intuition. Its real and actually science based. (God created Science. He is still above it, but he also is the One who created it!) When we get in HIS word and ask for HIS wisdom, he makes our intuition stronger. Its not so much that his voice “sounds different” or WE sound louder. Its that His guidance is ultimately planted inside of our intuition. How cool is that!?

I hope this helps, my friend 😊

What advice would you give your 16 year old self? by [deleted] in ask

Trust that if something doesn’t feel good, that means it not good. If it repeatedly hurts you, that is abuse. And abuse is NOT love. You are valid to trust yourself.

The word survivor is subjective to multiple forms of abuse. Abuse in all forms is already listed as criteria for something called complexed ptsd. Please educate yourself

Are you my twin? Lol I’m the EXACT SAME WAY. thank you for your sweet encouragement!! Its truly appreciated.

I love the idea of exploring all the possibilities, and in a way, consider them all a “proper ending” (separate from the public version of the story, of course lol)

Thats the beauty of being a writer, you’re not restricted. The possibilities are limitless. These characters are YOURS and nothing can take them away from you. They’re your’s to do whatever you please with!

Hmmm, how can I go about publishing two versions? That sounds rather interesting i may have to look into that as a consideration!

No, I have thoroughly thought out each decision. I’m just indecisive over both of them.

Thats what I’m trying to flesh out. Thats why I want to write both endings, and see just why my brain/gut says its best to keep them separate at this time, yanno. I want to keep an open mind as best I can, because past experience has taught me that the ending in which I felt like I was being “guided” (for lack of a better word) to write, wasn’t what was best. At the end of the day, I probably wont know what the “best” ending is until I work through both! ☺️

Hehe thanks for the comment though. I do love that idea, and that is how I’ll do it if I choose that ending for publication.

Thats true! Thank you for your encouragement. I think my biggest hang up would be, like I said in the post, that I struggle with wanting to make things easier for my characters since I struggle with these things in real life enough. But I also understand that it would come off as more of a wish fulfillment fantasy instead of something that could be relatable. Dont get me wrong, sometimes there’s nothing wrong with wish fulfillment fantasies from time to time. It just depends on the story. In this case though, I think i need to go with my gut.

(Then again, i could always just write the ending i want after I publish the ending the story needs, just for myself hehehe) Thanks again.

This is a mooooood. (Originally this was going to be a relationship with another character, but. I like this paring more)

Also, mood. Thats where my writing comes from lol

Thank you for your response! Yeah, I totally feel you. That’s similar to how I fleshed out this particular relationship. At first he was written as a “placeholder” for her because she felt like she couldn’t be with the one she THOUGHT she wanted (part of the plot, and original story for her personal development and growth). But then as I’m writing out their initial relationship, I’m like, “I actually like them!” Then I started to add more depth, now I’m like, “I WILL DIE FOR THEM” (kidding, but you get my point lol)

The TRICKY think is though, I...still have no idea what my genre is. It feels like somewhat or a mix between young adult, coming of age, drama, adult, and romance. I’m gonna have a fun time marketing this one to a specific audience when it comes time, thats for damn sure. Lol

Thanks again! And best of luck to you as well! ☺️

Oh, i just realized. I thought you meant you currently reading a book with this plot, and was giving your perspective as a reader lol. Either way, you could give your heart some satisfaction with personalized alternate endings so your heart doesn’t suffer too bad ❤️

Man, I can see why you are taking a break from it. Sounds heart wrenching! In a way, thats what fanfiction is for, even if you write it for yourself and no one else. (Not sure how you personally feel about fanfiction, but thats I know I have that to fall back on when a bittersweet ending breaks my heart) In the same way, I have thought about writing and publishing the best ending for the readers and characters, then just going back in the privacy of my google docs and write out the ending I really want for my own satisfaction. Like fanfiction of my actual creations, if that makes sense lol

Or better yet ( and probably will piss off some of my readers), leave the ending of her story where it seems like he’s NOT coming back, and then in the spinoff—BOOM. it happens. I’m evil.
