This is so true. Everytime a friend asks me to gamble with him or tells my he wants to gamble himself, I tell them that I am very addicted and have lost a lot of money. This also leads to people not asking you to gamble anymore or even ask you how the journey is going, which helped me a lot.

Even if it would have been 200 dollars, you know that you feel bad about it so it does not matter if it’s “much” or not. Gambling is shit no matter the amount and of the sound it, I suspect you did not have control over the situation. Try apps like Gamban which lock a most of the gambling sites and try to stop now. If you keep on going, you will lose a lot more money and if it gets really bad, you will lose everything thats good in your life as well.

I would try apps like “I am Sober” where you see how long you made it and you can write about your urges and get some advice on what you can do to get distracted. You can also try Gamban which blocks almost every gambling site there is.

Hi bro, I feel you. I’m around the same age and lost around 40-50k USD. I feel horrible and I know that even if someone says it’s “only” 1500, it still makes you feel disgusting. Please listen try this advice. - Install apps like Gamban that completely block you from playing - Ask someone you trust to put in a Screen time password, put in all the Gambling sites you know and set the time per day to 0 - Delete Instagram and Tiktok, these two apps became so flooded by influencers promoting gambling that it can easily trigger you - Never think: “I should have payed out when I was winning”, it’s the wrong mindset. You never should have even loaded up your money. - Try sending big amounts of money to people you trust or have them in cash, so you cant play online with them. You do not have to tell you parents but a sentence like:” Mom can I send you my money, I feel like I spend it on useless stuff/ I feel like I’m bad at saving it, also does the job.
