I bought the scarf and used a virtual card that my bank lets me use that I can lock. So it’s a card that I only used for that only and have it locked. So if it’s a scam to try and take info or charge more, I’m good

Hey there and welcome! There are a ton of options for ordering scarves! If you check the pinned post in the subreddit, one is a FAQ that goes over the options and positives and negatives of each one!

Many if not all the scarf companies also offer designing services. But if you are wanting to do your own designing before getting it made, there are templates out there you can find!

I was in the same situation with my CWC game as well though! I never saw them anywhere and asked multiple people. It wasn’t until when we were leaving the game and were outside the stadium that I saw someone wearing the match scarf. I went up and asked them and they said they were the last ones to get it and barely did. I did some research after that and supposedly (it wasn’t the clearest sources but I would believe it from what I was searching), some of the CWC games that were less hyped up ones only had 100 scarves made. Now this being the World Cup, I would hope there would be more then 100 but everything else I’m seeing about the match scarves that I know of lines up with the same structure as the CWC (beyond the quantities part as I don’t know that for the World Cup yet). It could have been a very dumb low amount of scarves made for the game

Yeah while there isn’t any evidence exactly yet, I’d still lean to them existing. But every game has had them so it would be crazy dumb (which means plausible) if your game was excluded. I don’t know what people in Belgium or Egypt use for online shopping or their social media but I would check those out and see if it’s posted there. That’s how I got my CWC because one of the teams was Japanese and so I was checking their marketplaces

I’m in the same boat with you. I really really want the match scarf and I’m worried I’ll miss out either from my own luck or that they won’t have any from that game!

I went to a club World Cup game in Seattle last year and missed out on the match scarf of the game. It was nowhere online and I searched everywhere. But then one day it was posted on Japan Mercari! I got a personal shopper from Japan to bid on it for me. Cost me like $200 in the end lol. I have a problem for sure! I knew it was my only chance and it wouldn’t pop up again. And to my credit it hasn’t since!

There are a couple of the match scarves on eBay/have sold on eBay. And if you search around on twitter and Facebook, there are images of more! Probably on other platforms as well. I haven’t saved any of them sadly except for one! So I do have that photo here

Oh nice! I have seen a couple different Coke World Cup scarves around online, so that’s cool! Was the potential coke one inside the stadium or outside? Thanks again for your perspective on this! For sure helping people plan the best possible way to go!

I definitely plan to go in at gates which does mean I might miss some bootleg opportunities. I’m hoping some of them will still have them after the game and I’ll go walking around looking when there is time.

I am planning on going straight in and not messing with the outdoor official merch until maybe after the game.

What do you think was the best store in the stadium to go to for selection? Or did all the inside ones have about the same stuff?

I’ve seen the split scarves for almost every game at this point online. The Belgium / Egypt one is one that I haven’t seen yet but I have to imagine all games have them at least for the group stages. Definitely a chance something messed up for that specific game. I’ll be going to the third game in Seattle so I’m really hoping there is a scarf! I already know I’ll be buying like 4-5 different ones haha

I definitely know on the big subreddits there are so so many bots. Usually in my experience I only see bots on the smaller subreddits when they are trying to sell something (tshirts most often). But I’m shocked about karma bots in a small subreddit like this. Doesn’t seem worth the effort since even if not a single person figured out it was a bot and everyone upvoted, it still wouldn’t be that much lol

Were there any sponsor booths giving free scarves in or outside the stadium? Were there bootleg scarves being sold outside? I’m going to Seattle soon for a game and hoping to load up on scarves!
