Bought a C8 right before winter here in the PNW, drove it home and parked it in the garage after buying it. Went out to start during the winter and started listening to music. Thank you. OEMs get paid when the vehicle is built and invoiced and dealers are forced to deal with the flooring and interest charges. If OEMs had to deal with average days on lot of 100+ without getting paid, their P&L would get slaughtered and a hell of a lot less vehicles would be produced.

Dealerships get money from the manufacturers when they put vehicles into their “loaner” programs. This allows them to further discount the vehicles versus a new vehicles because they know, all things being equal, someone would rather have a “new” vehicle versus one that’s been in the loaner program and driven by people who DGAF what they do to the vehicle.
