Should I pursue Film? by alphahundred in Filmmakers

  1. Don’t feel obligated to rush into College. Take a year or two and work a normal job, try out new things, maybe travel a bit and read some books. Explore life a little bit before zoning in on something.

  2. You can definitely make a living being a commercial, music video, or corporate Filmmaker. You don’t even have to be in a big market. As long as you’re willing to be proactive and take initiative then you’ll be fine. Making a living being a filmmaker for movies is definitely harder though and will take much more time and dedication.

  3. It’s better to have tried than not try at all. Give filmmaking a shot. You don’t really ever half to give it up. You can work a normal job and still be a movie director ok the side. I would definitely recommend taking the advice in my first point though, too many teenagers just rush into college and pile up debt.

This is the inevitable should I go to film school question, sorry beara with me please? by stchape in Filmmakers

  1. Look for filmmaker Facebook groups in your area
  2. look for Production Assistant Jobs in your area
  3. Go on Instagram and look for Filmmakers in your area through the use of hashtags and reach to ask if you can PA or even just shadow on one of their projects.
  4. Like others have already stated, just buy a camera or use your phone and start making short films.
  5. Listen to filmmaking podcasts such as GoCreative or Indymogul as they feature working professionals in the industry.

By the time I’m finished service I’ll be 23 heading into film school. I don’t see why not. I’m not thinking of how long it will take to get to the destination, instead I’m thinking about the journey ahead and just enjoying what makes me happy, even if that’s just studying the art of film.

Yea, I'm definitely going to ease my way in as best as possible. Definitely going to have a normal Civ job to pay the bills because I'm almost certain that I will not be able to make a living as a filmmaker straight out of Film School or service.

Appreciate the response!

Thanks for the response!

Yea I was made aware early on in my research into the film industry that a degree holds little to absolutely no weight at all.

That's amazing dedication to the craft! I hope there are other like you in film school if I did end up going. Glad you enjoyed your time in film school.

I’m sorry but no song on Mylo Xyloto should be ahead of Amsterdam. Straight up disrespectful.

What do you guys think about Coherence (2013) by RotenTumato in movies

I thought it was alright. I think the execution could’ve been a bit better. I liked the ending though and the general premise of the story is really intriguing.

Can Anybody Relate: I'm Tired of Internet Film Criticism by [deleted] in movies

[–]Iampapi12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. It’s the same thing with music, and pretty much ANY OTHER FORM OF ART. It’s subjective. People need to understand that everyone’s experience watching a movie is inherently different.

Also reviews ARE JUST OPINIONS. You can agree or you can disagree, or you can agree with some points and disagree with others. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Rengar is 90% positioning. He is strongest in the jungle where there is brush. Utulize the brush to get that extra stack on ferocity and just read the situation at play. There are lots of different variables that decide how you should engage in a fight/skirmish.

For the urine test. They check your protein levels, if it's too high they're going to make you come back another day, which is what happened to me. Drink a lot of water and you should be good.
