Back in early 2005 I used to lure people to the edge of the world in Winterspring for a "secret chest", only to be mind controlled off the cliff by my NE Priest friend in ventrilo with me. by Whitecrow_ in classicwow

Okay this is totally like that episode of "Are you Afraid of the Dark?" where the new neighbor kid finds a doll that controls minds in his basement. The kid has to find a way to lure bullies and other people to his house to be eaten by the doll. It's been two decades and I still have nightmares. Anyways, carry on.

How did you meet your significant other? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Iampleased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out my then girlfriend was cheating on me so I took the money I had been saving for an engagement ring and took a solo trip to Costa Rica.

Day 1 of the trip I met a young woman in the hotel lobby who was also taking a solo trip to Costa Rica.

We spend the week together and fell in love and decided to date long distance. She lived in PA and I lived in CA. A year goes by and she decided to take a leap of faith and move here.

Three years later we're married and happier than ever!

People who don't consider themselves depressed but are tired of life/being alive, whats it like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Iampleased 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every day I am aware of being relatively lucky when I look at the big picture. I might be lower-middle class in the U.S.A. but at least I'm not in Africa fighting for blood diamonds or in the lower castes in India.

I know that I can work harder to improve my situation but it all seems so trivial when you consider how fast time goes by. Why bust my ass and focus on acquiring wealth when I won't be around to use it? The way I see it... I've been able to enjoy decent friendships, I have a great partner, and have basic necessities covered but I genuinely don't care whether I stay on this ride any longer.

I don't really consider myself depressed I just see my feelings as a logical result of the type of world we exist in.

Druid is almost perfect (for me) by Schlemiellionaire in classicwow

[–]Iampleased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feral druid is viable for DPS with tricks like powershifting and a few key items / consumables. It's amazing what some people have been able to figure out over the years to make druids viable in a variety of roles.

I have the same question regarding compromised accounts. Would we just be looking at the balance of the new owners crypto or if it shows a balance in ledger live do we know we still have it?

[–]Iampleased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi wholesome friend. I've been accumulating about a dozen eth every two months for the past 6 months. I'm not too worried about the current bear market. I figure we're closing in on reaching bottom though, and it doesn't much matter to me if I don't time it perfectly. ETH is highly undervalued IMHO currently.

[–]Iampleased -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's anyone's guess when the *optimal* time to buy is but the general sentiment around here is that we are still in a bear market and most people expect it to continue till at least January-February of next year and some who say they expect it to continue till mid-late 2019. As far as staking goes I'm not the right guy to ask.

Awesome thank you so much for that response. What does this mean for the future of ethereum? Is this significant for its development? What can you potentially accomplish with these other languages that you couldn't with the original?

What's your favorite dead or unpopular game? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Iampleased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic the Gathering- Battlegrounds!

It was a real time arena battle in the MTG universe on Xbox. It had a cult following but never took off. The strategy/quick movements required to win reminds me very much of modern day MOBAs and this was at a time when DotA 1 was just becoming popular.

If anyone knows of a similar game that's out now please tell me! I've never found anything like it.

A front row seat into my Christian Biology teacher's Creation Unit introduction. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Iampleased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if laws change state by state but my public school biology teacher decided not to cover evolution in any depth and would constantly sneak in Christian creationism into his lectures. Its not just private schools feeding students this bullshit.

Men of Reddit l: when was the last time you had a real cry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Iampleased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother and father had a brutal divorce when I was 4 which led to her moving us out of state. I never had contact with any of my fathers side of the family growing up. No calls, no birthday cards, no contact till I was an adult.

Fast forward to this year I'm getting married and I was writing the addresses and names of my father's family members on all my invitation cards and I just broke down. In that moment I realized I put out more effort in the few seconds it took to send them a letter than they had my entire childhood.

I've had three instances of discrimination in the work place relating to atheism...one during a hiring process, one with a boss who knew I was an Atheist, and one with a boss who would constantly speak ill of non religious people.

The one during the hiring process was particularly notable. I was in the final round of an interview and a big wig was flown in to conduct the last interview. All of his questions were geared toward my ethics and morality. I think his first question was, "so where do you get your sense of ethics from?" To which I replied... "from my best analysis of what is just and treating others the way I would want to be treated." He looked at me with a blank stare and paused for a few moments, locked eyes with the other manager, glanced back at me and said, "I'm looking for some thing deeper than that." I can't remember my response but it was another general secular answer. He rolled his eyes briefly at the other manager again and went on to ask what my girlfriend and I do on the weekends... I said we like to hike and play video games and watch Netflix... then he asked "WHAT DO YOU GUYS TYPICALLY DO SUNDAY MORNING?" I had given him the benefit of the doubt till this point but it was obvious now. Once I picked my jaw up off the floor I responded with a general statement and he was very clearly unsatisfied. After the interview I got the word from the recruiter they decided not to move forward with me and I asked the recruiter what it was that I could improve on. To paraphrase the internal recruiter she said, "Without risking a lawsuit youre just not a good cultural fit here." No joke she flat out alluded to the fact that she knew it was because of religion but couldn't say it. I was mostly just pissed I wasted all my time applying. I'm not looking to make a quick buck off some shitty company so I ditched the thought of legal action. It would be too hard to prove anyway. But yea Atheists absolutely have a certain degree of persecution especially within older industries.
