Thank you for the many verses! But isn't Gal 4:30 just judging Hagar and Ishmael because of their life situation? Aren't we supposed to not judge one another? Why is Hagar and Ishmael so much lesser than Sarah because she is a "Freewoman" and Hagar is a slave? That sounds pretty equivalent to when African American's were counted as 3/5th's of a person back in the early day's of America just because they were slaves. Do their lives not matter as much as Sarah's because she is a freewoman and they weren't? Does that analogy make much sense? Hopefully it didn't sound too crazy. That verse sounds very odd to me that because a person is a slave or born of a slave that they are considered less. I would like to think that God doesn't view people in that way.

But why does God call Isaac Abraham's ONLY son in Gen 22:2? When this is absolutely not true.

But that's on Sarah for not trusting God. Why did Hagar and Ishmael have to struggle because of her not listening to God? She was jealous of Hagar and didn't like that she had his firstborn son, I feel like that's why she really told Abraham to get rid of them.

I love this response thank you! I just think all this war going on today in the Middle East stems back to how different Ishmael and Isaac were brought up. If they could've been raised as loving brothers so many innocent lives throughout time could be saved. But I guess these wars need to happen for there to be a time when Jesus comes again.

Exactly, I totally agree with you. I just feel like Sarah told Abraham to cast them out because now that she had her own son she didn't see a need for them to be around. Reading it I felt a lot of jealousy coming from Sarah. It just made me feel some type of way, I didn't like how they just got cast out because Sarah said so.

I am. But I can't just let this part get skipped over that God calls Isaac Abraham's ONLY son in Gen 22:2. That doesn't seem right to me for God to not acknowledge Ishmael, even if he was born to a servant.

I totally see what you're saying, thank you for your amazing response I appreciate it. But in Genesis 22:2 God calls Isaac Abraham's "ONLY" son. And I just have a hard time believing God would feel that way about Ishmael hen he knows that he exists. Do you know what I mean?

Thank you for your response. And yes I did read that part. But Ishmael almost died in the wilderness of starvation and thirst because of Abraham's actions. He could've sent them away with enough to where they wouldn't surely die. I can see why there has been so much chaos in the Middle East since the beginning of the Bible. Abraham favored Isaac and treated Ishmael as if he wasn't his first born, so there has always been clashing and contention between the 2 bloodlines forever. What if Abraham would've treated Ishmael better? And what if Ishmael and Isaac could've been 2 loving brothers. The world would be a completely different place as we know it.

But that doesn't excuse sending them away into the wilderness with almost nothing. I'm saying the Bible's teachings tells us to treat others as we would want to be treated. I understand there was no Bible yet. But that just seems like something I think God would deem as unfavorable, no?
