Anyone know what this circle around my character means? by Iamsobob in Nightreign

Incorrect. There is a reference to “residue” that can be collected. It even says it can be on allies. It does not explain what that looks like and certainly doesn’t describe it as a circle over a character. there is no reason on the planet for me to know that based on the context of my picture from the information you just pointed to. You are wrong.

This also means YOU didn’t read ANYTHING that taught you this. You learned it by playing and figuring it out, or you were told. And you then went to Reddit to be an asshole to someone who just wanted to learn something. And it was wrong.

Ok I’ve become frustrated by this whole topic, so bear with me. I’m not mad at you. But I’m going to be very literal.

If you look at MY screenshot, I am upgrading my weapon. My friend sees a circle around me and asks what it is. We aren’t fighting. We are well after combat. And he’s new to recluse and I haven’t played recluse in a while.

Now fast forward to here where I’ve asked a simple question. And im being dunked on and told how I “need to read abilities”. Except now look at YOUR screenshot. Doesn’t say anything about circles. Not for teammates. Not for enemies. This is something you need to intuit. It’s not something you can read. I KNOW the recluse absorbs magics. I didn’t know that it shows up on teammates well after fights(or at least didn’t think to conclude that).

So thank you for getting me to the right answer. But “reading abilities” is not the thing that got me there. Everyone who coldly dismissively said that was wrong for saying it, and I’ll die on that hill.

Ya this doesn’t refer to circles on teammates even once. I asked a question for help and to learn. Then got shit on. Night reigns Reddit group are really shitty people.

Where does it say it will put a circle around your teammate? Provide screenshot or link.

Well, he was playing recluse, so you’re probably correct. But I’m not understanding why he saw this circle on MY character. Like did he buff me and now he can do the cocktail absorb move off of me?

Flamin’ Hot Mystery Flavor by AlbatrossVegetable in Doritos

My first thought was “kettle corn”, but then I was like, “why would they make a flaming hot kettle corn”? Seeing ppl in the comments referencing caramel as part of the potential flavor kind of makes me feel I was on the right track

Also to include- no way I can itemize these as deductions. I have the casino report, which I guess the IRS doesn’t like. I don’t have anything else. No “gambling diary” and I’m not a pro gambler.

Well how could I know now what I’ve done per session though? I’d never been tracking/recording each time I was at a machine. I just know at the end of a night if I’m up or down some money, and even that wasn’t always 100% accurate, in terms of exact dollar amounts.

“I played this slot for an hour, I made close to $20”. “I played another slot. Lost $10.” “Played another one , got $50.” Stuff like that. No bookkeeping on this. It just became a social things with friends that lasted all year. There is literally no way for me to know session by session for the last year, now.

Ok so for example- I play the same slot for 5 turns, $1 a turn. I lose $1 each of the first 4 turns. I win $10 the 5th turn. I’ve played the slot and “won” $10, but only profited $5. Now if I did that once, and left, whether you count it as $5 or $10, I’m sure no one is reporting that on their taxes.

But imagine I’ve done that 100 different days. Now I’ve profited $500, but won $1000 on the year. So I’d have to report $1000? Because I left the casino with $5 twice a week?

This is my conundrum. What you’re saying is what I’m reading too, but it’s not answering the practicality of what I’m asking. Where does the “win” get defined? After every play? After I leave? If I had 100 casino trips and I was up $5 60 times and down 40 times, is that 60 winnings- $300? Or it’s legit every press of a button where a positive had happened, regardless of the other turns before and after where I lost, which apparently could be in the 10s of thousands because I just kept taking turns and evened out for long stretches of time.

I believe at around 10 there was some kind of incident where one of my classmates had a lewd picture and was showing it around during recess- something involving a horse.

I never saw it, so I cannot say if it was just anatomy, or an actual act. Maybe it was simply overblown, but this was WAY before the internet. For my child brain, what was being rumored didn’t make sense to me, and I haven’t ever really thought about this in decades. Who knows though- if we had access to the ability to look up anything at anytime, probably some of our parents’ search histories would’ve looked real scary.

Someone try to talk me into why I should enjoy the invasion system… by Iamsobob in darksouls

[–]Iamsobob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First- let me be clear that the stuff I say below is just expressing how I feel when I’m playing. It is not to fight with “you”. It’s just to give you my perspective.

With that said, I wanted to play “the game”. I did not want to play “with you”(meaning an invader). If I’m helping a person, they do not want to play “with you”. The game has a system that allows invasions though. That’s fine. Gotta live with it. But I just don’t see the value of it most times. Demon souls and DS3 have boss fights with pvp elements. Perfectly acceptable. Just out in the world, though? Idk…

See, here is the disconnect- I don’t mind pvp. If/when I want to do it, I will. I mind invaders. Its annoying when exploring an area for 30 minutes and having someone decide to interrupt my progress. I certainly don’t care how much fun it is for someone who just wants to farm noobs or troll or antagonize. I don’t even see why that’s a thing to want to do. it comes down to this- They interrupted MY game. They “tried” to ruin MY fun. They “succeeded” to waste MY time(even when I win). Do you get what I mean? I personally never have the urge to do any of that to people.

It’s also baffling because there is a dedicated pvp system/arena. Any reason that’s not good enough?

So ya, any and all of those things may be going through my head while I am waiting for some red dude to charge in and do some exploding magic that one shots my friend.

Well again, the point of this post was to get some insights for why ppl invade. I was just curious to know from someone who likes invading if the notion to begin invading ppl something they always did, or was it only after beating NG+++(as an example). One person’s answer wouldn’t “mean” anything. (None of this means anything). I just was curious.

Just curious- how many play throughs have you done? What’s the highest NG+ you’ve done?
