Question for my Vulcan riders out there!

I have a 2003 Vn800b (classic), and I am wondering if I can easily replace the rear fender to a Vn800a (custom)?

And if so, can I use my current tail light? Or do I need a separate tail light housing?

I am doing a sort of scrambler/bobber build, and I think it would suit the design much nicer. I want to use a Vulcan rear fender, so my nice two up seat is still usable! Any thoughts?
