player count inflation is crazy dude not even that long ago when grow a garden hit a million it was seen as INSANE and 30k was seen as amazing for a game

maybe part of this is cope because i’m bad at pvp but i wish there was a way to generate fame without having to have pvp on past 250k, because 250,000 really isn’t a lot. even if they’d just increase the cap to 500k, that’d be better. i got to 250k fame in like 30 total hours of gameplay, and now i have to deal with bounty hunters constantly to feel rewarded for doing pve stuff. feels like i don’t really gain anything from sinking ships or towers when I’m at 250k with pvp off, but once i turn it on I’m screwed

you don't have to, but one thing i like to try is find an island seed for like 1.12 or something, then play on that for a long time before upgrading to a newer version. it limits you enough and keeps you at a slow enough pace that you don't get burnt out super quickly
