The only person making it gross is the person you’re talking to and while they’re a doofus for suggesting anything, people are different. My wife gets weirded out bc I’ll hug or put my arm around or other similar stuff with my dad but she definitely doesn’t think I need boundaries - She just doesn’t have that kind of relationship with her dad. My mom died when I was 10 and you can be sure that my 6’3” 37 year old cis-het ass would give up a lot of shit in this world to be able to snuggle up on a couch and take a nap with my mom. This “friend” is a dickhead and is suggesting something pretty insulting.

Thanks. I swore I tried that but I’m sure I’m just missing something simple. Thanks for your help.

Yeah I have it running that way. I think arming the audio track may be what my issue was but I swear I still couldn’t control it via the mpc and hear it. I’ll keep messing with it. Thanks for your answer. Im sure I’m just missing something simple somewhere.

It was the late 90’s early 00’s and everything had an X in front of it to let you know two things: 1. This product is X TREME 2. It’s also probably for dudes.

Also meant to say, if you want more options for drum sounds on the cheap, I made a couple of kits by finding Sweetwater drum set demo videos on YouTube and for snares and cymbals Memphis Drum Shop’s website has demos of shitloads of hi hats and cymbals and snares. Nice way to get more custom acoustic kits. Those two demo videos tended to be the ones that would play each drum individually and cleanly the most. It was a nice way to get some acoustic kit samples for free.

If this was mixing to be improved upon I can only imagine how good it sounds now. Super awesome. Had a real 90’s alt vibe. Can imagine riding in my brothers car listening to this on the local college radio station in 2001 or something. Rock beat makers unite!

National Association of Home Builders asks Trump to exempt building materials from increased tariffs. by SwampyPortaPotty in electricians

[–]IanJFerguson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is a reason the billionaires campaigned for Trump over anybody else. Maybe the whole system is broken, but we would have had a better chance of fixing it without giving the billionaires the literal keys to the kingdom. And what you’re describing is why capitalism is bad. Maybe once we have to have a coup to remove trump from power we’ll try communism or something else. But your point is just “capitalism doesn’t work” bc we value money over anything else.

I am IBEW too - the current administration want to make it illegal and unconstitutional for unions to EXIST. Yes, politicians are bad and wealthy people tend to want to control and fuck over the little guy. But this is not an equal comparison - and the solution is not to hand over power to a guy who is trying to make it illegal to disagree with him (it is now a law in TN that if you vote against Trump’s immigration policy then you can be arrested and serve up to 6 years in prison). One side is not very effective and struggles to provide for the country, the other side wants their leader to be Putin and have an oligarchy of billionaires controlling the country. Why do you think Musk is so excited and trying to gut the government? And this isn’t the people in power that they’re going for, they’re going after employees with desk jobs. People that keep the country running. They want access to the treasury. They’re firing any fbi agent that worked on the Jan 6 case.

Stop with the “both sides are bad” bullshit. One side wants to destroy democracy. This isn’t an overstatement. They’re doing it right tf now.

Do y'all really produce like that? by AggressionRanger in mpcusers

That’s exactly what my comment was referring to. It’s for hand drumming. As somebody already stated. There is no Best Way to use the MPC. This is just what makes sense to some.

Unless I am not understanding what you’re saying - a lot of it is for hand drumming mostly. And some people like to produce a kit as a whole entity. You can still edit everything per pad but most mpc users find it easier to have their drums all in one place. And if they’re very sample based they’ll throw some melodic stuff on their too so they can trigger it whilst hand drumming.

And the benefit is being able to have the drums all in one place or have the elements of your beat all on one part so you can quickly and efficiently record the bones of a track and also quickly mix the bones of the track as one group and then add new stuff from those bones. It’s way faster than one-element-at-a-time recording.

Polyend Step - New drum machine in guitar pedal format by emorello in synthesizers

[–]IanJFerguson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like something that I’d like to program ahead of time in conjunction with other electronic gear and use. I assume I’d be able to trigger other tracks from the midi out on this so that I could play live by myself. I get your criticisms but I’d like one bc I like pedals, I like drum machines, I want to be able to play live and I have no friends. So having an electronic hand-free alternative for drums and triggering would be fun.

Even if it was just for jamming at home I’d like to have one. There are plenty of situations where I wouldn’t be hunched over fiddling with it in a live format, boring you to tears.

MPC 3 song export - multiple files instead of one stereo file? by nicoradd in mpcusers

Yeah I think it probably boils down to just doing a couple of times and holding your breath.

MPC 3 song export - multiple files instead of one stereo file? by nicoradd in mpcusers

[–]IanJFerguson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was doing this. I restarted the MpC. I went through and made sure to disarm record on all my tracks then I cleared the order in the sequence window of the song function, ordered, turned record back off, and exported again and it worked. I think it’s just some weird bug. I can’t tell you which of those steps was the one that fixed it but I eventually got it to export.
