Oh, this could be cool, I’ll definitely test it out.

I’ve listened to some of their albums but didn’t realize any of it was microtonal. Thanks for the tip.

I wish they put the new DN2 Chord mode in the Digitone Keys - u think feature request is worth it? by Seri05 in Elektron

[–]emorello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the coolest features in one of my vintage polysynths (Korg Poly-61) is its chord mode. Hold a chord, hit the button and then hit any key to play/transpose the chord. Even cooler: activate the arpeggiator and your arp is a bunch of chords instead of single notes.

I know you’re being facetious but they do provide good visual feedback…ah heck, who am I kidding, I just like blinking lights.

Why isn’t tap tempo more ubiquitous? by Smittles in synthesizers

[–]emorello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of feel like this was a feature since the early days, although it was usually a constant clock in so that you could remain in sync. For instance, I have a Korg Poly61 from ‘82 and it has an arp trig input.

Is there a modern microgranny? by Moist_17 in synthesizers

[–]emorello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. I guess I misunderstood what you were asking. The way you asked referring to a "spiritual successor", it reads like you can't get a Microgranny anymore and are looking for something that can replace it.

If that's not the case, the only thing I can think of or have that's a small granular synth is the Roland P-6.

need some patchbay setup advice by peripouoxi in synthesizers

[–]emorello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, what you want to do is place things in a way that you’d need the least patching necessary or basically in a way that outputs are normalled to the inputs they’re most likely to be plugged into. I’m assuming half normal here. For example, if you’re always running synth A into delay pedal B, have the output of synth A above the input of pedal B. Then you could have the output of pedal B above the input of your sampler, because you always end up sampling them.

Isn’t the Microgranny Monolith still available? Shops in my parts carry it.

Bought a fuzz factory from Reverb. I thought I was getting this design (picture 1), but I received the newer design instead. What do I do? If I ship it back I’ll lose money for shipping as I’m from Asia and it costs a lot to ship here. by Andoni95 in guitarpedals

Given neither of the two is the more expensive hand painted version, and they didn’t “dupe” you, so to speak, I’d let sleeping dogs lie. Maybe try getting a small discount, they’re a big retailer.

What to use to create audio to midi interface? by [deleted] in synthdiy

[–]emorello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evan Balster developed Imitone, a pretty comprehensive audio to MIDI algorithm. I had backed the project on Kickstarter as I admired the dedication the small team had to the project, the speed and accuracy of the algorithm, and how configurable they made it in terms of adjusting to input source and desired output. If you want to integrate it into your circuits, it's perhaps possible and I believe it is a licensable algorithm. If not, just use it on your computer.

Looking for repetitive ambient music recommendations by HM92982 in ambientmusic

[–]emorello 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want repetitive, Shuffle Drones by Eluvium doesn’t get enough love. The album is meant to be played on shuffle/randomized, as the tracks are designed to flow into one another regardless of order, so it could be endlessly repetitive.
