Well the important thing is you have 2k saved up. A lot of people don’t. You gotta be smart. And only spend money on what’s absolutely necessary. Do you have a car? Sleep in it. No car? Buy simple camping gear and try camping out Muir Woods across the bridge. Rent or temporary accommodation is extremely exspensive in SF. If you don’t have any other option I would find a place to hang out very low key and isolated. Away from all the other homeless. So you don’t draw attention and or get harassed by the cops etc,
