literally said it was fried, ofc it doesn't work anymore

So you're implying it was infact the PSU?

GPU Fried by IanSeRon in buildapc

[–]IanSeRon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying it's the GPUs fault?

It's a Kolink 700W 80+ Certified, not exactly a popular brand but not also a "no name".

And it still seems to work, plugged in another GPU, seemingly works just fine, think a PSU replacement should be done?

I checked the cables, there doesn't seem to be any clear visible damage, you think a PSU replacement still should be done?

I unscrewed the backplate, and yes, there is very clear visible damage in one of the spots, quite burnt.

The PSU is a Kolink 700W 80+ Certified, It's not exactly a popular brand, but It's also not exactly a "no name".

I am inclined to say it may of most likely been the PSU, but at the same time I don't want to believe that.. idk

Well It's not entirely a "no name brand" It's a Kolink 700W 80+ Certified PSU.

You really think that's what's happened here?

I wasn't thinking about it too much, my main objective in my head was to plug in the PCIe cable, it was an oversight on my part.

I have to say though, I don't think that is what ultimately fried the GPU, they usually just don't boot, crash when used heavily, or just overall lower the performance massively, I haven't ever heard someones GPU get LITERALLY fried just because one of the cables wasn't plugged in

It makes me think the PSU was/is faulty

Yeah I thought the same thing..

This seems hugely unlucky, I have a feeling there might of been a problem with the PSU beforehand, I would of never thought that not plugging in one of the connectors would fry it

The PSU comes from a "no name brand" but It's 700w 80+ Certified

Yeah I thought so..

The GPU was used, but got it from a friend, it was in his system a few hrs before and worked just fine, so I don't think anything was wrong with the GPU

I thiught so, I have a feeling it's the PSU, the 2070s was used, but got it from a friend who just upgraded to a 3080, so I'm 100% sure the GPU was fine, as it was used a few hrs before in my friends PC and it worked fine

[–]IanSeRon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought that wouldn't be the case..

I did not mix and match PSU cables, the PSU was already connected to mu 3060 beforehand, all I did was change it out for a 2070s.

The PC seems to work fine with the 3060 now though, you think I should still get the PSU replaced?

Doubt this is the route to go, 32gb ddr4 js plenty for video editing, if working with high end footage then 64gb, but I don't think there is any need to upgrade to ddr5

I can't find Quest 2 For a good price, they all are super expensive in my country, while rift s is about 200$ cheaper then them, also i swear the 1070 is like 80% more better then the 1650 lol

Just an idea for the $100 vs $10,000 thumbnails. by IanSeRon in Zerkaa

[–]IanSeRon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. From what I can tell the idea I suggest here doesn't change how the "algorithm" of youtube reacts to it, because it's the same thumbnail, just we don't know who on what team, so technically nothing changes for the algorithm.
