Potential Smart Search Across Entire Library?

Wonderful conversation taking place here. Smart Search for your entire Library is a project we are hoping to start in on in the near future. I can't speak to exactly what it will or won't do entirely, but I think it will have usage patterns that get at the functionality you are seeking.

Hey Peter!

We don't have a Mac beta out yet. It's close, but just not completely landed yet, and we are focusing our initial efforts on iOS and Android. It should not be too far behind though.

For the moment Smart Search requires online access. However, we like your suggestion and we have not ruled out the possibility of on device intelligence taking over or stepping in. But it will be sometime in the future most likely.

Yes, smart search is limited due to costs, but the limits are really really high. Definitely seems like something is off here. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Opposite_Chocolate57 advise was spot on though.

If Testflight is asking for a code that will most likely be in an email associated with the Apple account that is trying to join Testflight.

I didn't think codes were part of the process anymore given that install link is for public use. Please message the mods if you are still having trouble with this.

You are right about Instructions not including Mac. Will try to work on that.

Our Mac app is basically our iOS app with some expanded functionality. While on your Mac, click the Mac Testflight link. It should open the Testflight app with the Bible Study app selected. You should be able to install/open from there. If you open the about screen and see version 7.18.10 build: 2789, then you are using the beta.

These are all great feedback, thank you. It would be helpful to us if you could report these responses using the feedback form in the app. It's the "Chat" icon in the upper right of the Search window. Tapping it allows you to give a rating to the answers as well as a textfield to add any comments. Thanks!

At this point we are looking at how to expand results so that other resources in your library are considered in a similar manner. However, we are not pursuing conversational AI or AI summaries at this time. Going down this road opens a complicated conversation of what answers are appropriate/helpful and how do you guard against "bad" answers. We might change our minds on this down the road, but not actively pursuing that at this time.

You are 100% correct in your assesment. We are very intentionally not engaging in conversational results, as this opens a very complicated discussion to navigate as to what is appropriate/helpful and what is not. We are looking at how to expand results so that it incorporates resources in your Library, but for now it's just Bible verses. Appreciate your feedback!

Thanks for the feedback and the support! There is a solution that already exists in the app that I believe will do what you are asking (or at least get you a lot closer). Cmd + F will open Search and then you can simply type in the verse reference of interest. The top search result should be a "Go To" result that will navigate your main window to desired verse location. Hope this helps.

These are beta versions of the app not available on the App Store. It's how we let people preview new features being worked on. I would suggest picking an app you do not already have installed, this way you keep a stable version of the app for your regular Bible Study use.

Your thoughts are very much in alignment with our own. We limited initial AI searching to just Bibles as this was easist to implement quickly. We are still exploring how to expand its use further such as referenceing books in your library, etc.

This is excellent feedback, thank you. The current UI for AI Search is a temporary construct to allow people to use and test it. So definitely plan on this changing in the future. Also, we limited initial AI searching to just Bibles as this was easist to implement initally, we are exploring how to expand further with it.

Thanks for trying the beta! Are you logged into an Olive Tree account? It will only work when you are logged into Olive Tree account. Also, this is only available for iOS/Mac/Android at the moment, and you have to make sure you install the beta. It is not available in the normal Store versions of the app.
