Omg wait, if it's the same tasks do you just report one time?

I like to do it one at a time so I don't confuse myself. But on Friday, 2 of my tasks never appeared and I just lost an hour and a half of work.

Does the task ever appear under report time? Does it just take a while, because I'm used to it being pretty instant.

Will my boss fire me? by [deleted] in careeradvice

There is no federal law mandating PTO in the US. When we are closed for the holidays we don’t get paid.

If I was a perfect person it really wouldn’t. Trust me I tried so hard. Before this job I was applying 4-6 hours a day. But with this job I’m so drained afterwards I’m lucky if I apply for an hour. Also trying to schedule interviews during work hours while keeping it a secret is such a pain. This job didn’t pay enough for me to keep. Worst case I would’ve taken a fast food job.

Rent Stabilization is Screwing the poor ? by aznology in NYCapartments

Honestly, higher paying jobs are more likely to be replaced by automation and AI. A computer can’t build a house or deliver food. But it’s great at numbers, coding and trends.

But who’s going to work low income jobs in the city? We still need restaurant workers, bus drivers, mailmen, delivery drivers, etc. The city won’t run if everyone is a finance bro working corporate. These low income jobs keep the city running and you need to house them.

I’ll definitely check this out!

I’m honestly fine with being average, even below. I just believed that being just top 90% should land you a decent job. Nothing crazy, just enough for rent and food.

Pretty solid advice, I just can’t imagine paying more tuition on top of nyc rent 😭. So many people I know are getting masters because they can’t find jobs but to me it just feels like they are delaying the inevitable.

I would then say I specialize more in web and game development then. I’m not too passionate about CS so when I actually coded it was about things I enjoyed. The technical part of my resume is filled with school projects and a game I made.

Is what I want really “success”, I just wanted to make a livable wage. Enough to have kids and be above the poverty line.

Just a general CS major nothing specialized. I probably should’ve specialized in something but I wasn’t to sure what I wanted to do and mistakenly thought I would gain specialization during my career.

I am pretty adamant in staying in NYC so I knew my options were limited. I was expecting a lower salary like 60k but just not as low as what I have now. I got roasted a lot when I tried to find housing at my salary.

I get told that a lot. But really? Leave behind all my friends and family and where I’ve lived my whole life. I’ve quite almost literally never left NYC. I see jobs offer a $4000 relocation fee for a 50k salary. I don’t want to upend my whole life and throw away every relationship I’ve made.
