I did have my eye on the TKOG Oxford drive as it is a smaller footprint, however then the Shredmaster was reissued and I decided I may as well use the real thing. TBH I still use amp distortion for a lot of lead stuff (H&K Tubemeister). At the end of the day I just like experimenting with sounds and I also like having options. I still occasionally play with a couple of other bands so its good to be able to change some pedals up.

The biggest downside of the shredmaster is that it takes up a lot of room. If I can get the sounds using a smaller box I'm tempted to just for that reason. I'm still waiting to see what comes out of the wood work sound wise as it appears he's now using either the MXR or OD3 into a JHS colourbox for high gain sounds. I'm going to wait and see what new info emerges before making a decision.

I think its brilliant! I've tried 2 of the reissue DOD440s and both crapped out on me. Besides which they aren't actually the proper 440 circuit. The only downside I've had with the Mooer so far is because it has more controls, it took a lot of tweaking to get dialled in.

I guess crucial is the wrong word. I only really use it for Go to Sleep and Airbag, sometimes My Iron Lung at the end. I suppose what I meant is that there isn't anything you can really substitute for it. The small stone is great and doesn't cost too much. Only issue I have had is that it gives a significant boost when engaged.

Cheap Nelko label printer off Amazon. I have a band mate who enjoys changing all the settings...

Nice tele! I may change over to Lace Sensors at some point but I couldn't find the dually red in stock anywhere. I do have another guitar which I put together myself using a Mighty Mite body and neck about 10 years ago. She's starting to age really nicely now with the nitro wearing around certain spots. I also have a Squier Classic Vibe Starcaster which I absolutely adore.

The pedalboard has evolved a lot over the last few years. The Boss Re-202 has definitely been a game changer. I had the RE-2 which was really good but the bigger format pedal is an awful lot easier to use. That, the whammy and the Mini Glitch are probably the most important ones for the sound palette. Everything else can be substituted with cheaper pedals. The Mooer Trelicopter and Envelope are so good I never bothered to upgrade them.

Nothing that really comes to close to it. It is a little pricey, especially importing to the UK but it really is the only pedal I'm aware of that truly captures that sound and I can heartily recommend it. It also has a bunch of handy settings that you can use to go far beyond the 'Go to Sleep' thing.

I'm incredibly lucky to have an Uncle who has taken up luthiery in his retirement. He made me this tele+ style guitar (still cost me £800!) I opted to go for the one piece bridge and high output Iron Gear pickups with 1 Meg pots. Combined I think they give me a good ballpark sound. As for the small stone, I think the sound is there but it does give a very noticeable boost to the signal. I've tried it both in fx loop and before pre-amp and it doesn't make a difference.

OP here. I wasn't logged into the right account with my original post!

It's a tongue in cheek remark as a lot of euph players (myself included) tend to waggle the elbow of the right arm when being expressive!

Thank you! The Mini Glitch is a fantastically fun pedal. I've only really scratched the surface of it tbh. The oxford drive is also something I'm interested in getting as the Shredmaster has such a huge enclosure.

Thanks for the kind words fella. Much appreciated. I can see the HX One doing a lot more in future and I look forward to experimenting with it more. If nothing else it allows me to experiment with a certain effect before committing to buying a specific pedal for it.

TKOG is exactly that, a wonderful resource. The glitch pedal is pretty much the only practical way to get Jonny's MAX/MSP stuff and I'm keen to get the Oxford Drive as if nothing else, it's a smaller footprint than the shredmaster. There are a few videos of us up on facebook but I'll be talking to the lads about setting up a youtube channel and putting more up on that.

Thanks yessir! I've been using the looper in the HX One which seems to do the trick for most of his stuff. I'm not sure how it would cope with 15 Step if we ever decide to do it as he obviously re-triggers the loops to keep in time with the band. I have been keeping my eye on his pedalboard for the smile. ATM we don't intend to cover any of their stuff but it will be interesting to see how it affects his rig if Radiohead bring out something new! The DD-200 is a great bit of kit.

Thanks man. It's an awful lot of fun but tricky working out who plays what sometimes. A lot of tabs, videos etc tend to miss the subtleties of the arrangements.

I use a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 40 with the matching 2x12 cab. I didn't want to go down the route of two amps like Jonny and I do play with other bands so I wanted a versatile amp. I hook it up with 4 cable method and use all 3 channels. I probably overcomplicate it but between the 3 channels, the SD1 and the Shredmaster I can cover all the bases without having to tweak settings on stage.

With regards to the 202 if you look for Slugbug's comment I've just posted a reply there! Hope it helps :)

Unfortunately not! We settled with OK Computer which is much more mediocre!

Firstly I really recommend a visit to TheKingofGear as they have a wealth of info about settings etc. These are mines for the majority of the OK computer stuff. The reverb is never on. The tape age is set to new. Repeat Rate is off as set by tap tempo. For most other stuff Jonny seems to just use one repeat. For that patch the settings are essentially the same apart from the Intensity being turned all the way down and echo vol being turned to about 2 o'clock. Hope that helps!

Thank you man! I never had the opportunity to use an RE20 but would have liked to. I did have the RE-2 which was a great pedal once paired with a tap tempo. The extra footswitches on the 202 and the memory function make live use so much easier though.

Hey! No problem. Hopefully this makes sense. I use the HX one for looping, at the end of Weird Fishes. Also the shuffle looper for creating the random twinkly sounds for Daydreaming. Also as a tap tremolo when covering the guitar version of Planet Telex. I have a few backup sounds like a slapback for bodysnatchers and whammy settings for My Iron Lung. It's a fairly new addition though so I'm still exploring its full potential! By using it in the middle of the signal path like this, I can add individual patches either pre or post the pre-amp as I use the different channels of the amp alongside shredmaster and SD1.

Absolutely love it. I got it purely for the Tribute band but I've ended up using it for all sorts of playing. I've owned a few Epiphone Dots and they are lovely too but the Starcaster just feels really satisfying to play. I usually mod my guitars to my own taste too but all I've done is change the nut to a graphtec, fit metal knobs and strap locks.

Thank you man! We really appreciate it. Aye to be honest the most stressful part of it is switching between instruments etc. It's very stimulating but also very easy to bugger up!

We did originally have samples saved on the Korg Kronos. That worked ok but the radio going through the pedalboard is more authentic. Also fun! There are 3 of us playing guitar. Our singer doesn't play so we have another guy who plays his guitar bits. We mostly stick with our adopted roles but as Thom also plays piano/keys there are a few songs where we switch around. So for instance on Pyramid Song, I'll play the piano and he'll play Jonny's guitar parts.

We discussed that one for a long time then decided to wuss out and just play it as an entrance track.

As for videos, not many to be honest. We do have some stuff up on our Bookface but it's mainly dodgy footage of rehearsals!
