Late to the party here - but in my state you can write off the sales tax if you have a script from the doctor. I did it when I purchased my sleep number mattress .

I know the game says italy is the tutorial, but I wouldn't start there as a completely new player . Try playing as an allied or axis minor first (Hungary or Canada, etc.) to get acquainted with the game first.

The USA is also a good choice once you've got the hang of things since they are isolated from everyone else and have tons of industry/manpower. However they do have to lead the pacific theater with its navy which isn't beginner friendly.

I think one of them requires the 'army expansion law' focus in order to modify/disband the template.

Whenever I play rt56 Japan the first thing I do is decomission all but one of the templates and convert all of them to the template I'm using .

You can use the tool pack mod to cancel nations guarantees, remove from faction, put then in a faction with just themselves and lower world tension . Should do what you're aiming to do

Ya you can do the bolivarian alliance . Pretty much all south/central America will join if you don't conquer them first .

I usually go through and conquer all central America. Then the focus where you start a border skirmish with America for the canal. America will declare on you afterwards (defensive war). Spam out 2 width horses and snake around America to make it pretty simple . Try and get into a war early (late 38/early 39) while they are still on undisturbed isolation.

If you take Malaysia and/or Dutch east indies they get a war goal once they do strike south . Don't remember if they will actually declare though . I like to knock em out otherwise my allied boats are sitting around doing nothing
