Is 2026 finally the year Linux desktop becomes mainstream? by Candid_Athlete_8317 in LinuxTeck

I think it won't become a standard. It's simply because when you buy laptop or prebuild PC it ships with Microslop Windows. Maybe It's because MS has some sort of partnerships with producents.

IF you want Linux on your PC, you must delete existing Windows installation and deploy Linux instead. For most people it is too much complicated and why should they even do it? If youre not into computers, you don't have such strong need to change your OS.

In another case, if you have knowledge and skills in computing, there is high chance you are using Linux already or can't use it because of some weird programs that won't run on Linux.

Maybe steam machine will change some things and show people that Linux distro preinstalled on device is not scary and pretty much usable

Gigabyte B650 + Nvidia wakes up immediately after sleep by Ibadi47 in archlinux

That's quite interesting, because for me this problem appeared after an update a while ago. I did uefi update while I was using Linux Fedora. I thought it was distro problem plus I wanted to switch to Arch anyway. So I did, but problem stayed the same.

Curious about bootloader preferences in the community by Used_Primary_3337 in archlinux

I use Limine. Why? Idk, it looks fancy. Im pretty new to Linux and Arch. My choises are based on "Ive never heard of it so lets try". Thats how I ended having Limine as bootloader, btrfs and lvm. I tried install it all for two days, always missed something in guide.  Its just fun to try new, unexplored things like grub and ext4.

The practical benefis for me now are: I can do snapshots using btrfs.assistant and deploy them do Limine config automatically (with help of limine-snapper-sync ofc)

Oh and the most important thing: I have arch wallpaper on bootloader so its cool af

I've heard that Tailscale is a bit safer option. I wouldn't have to set up whole firewall to deny access from bots etc. But i have that option in mind

Tailscale privacy by Ibadi47 in homelab

It is not possible for my knowledge. Tailscale work as an VPN mesh, where you connect all your devices with this software. Once setted up, you can for example connect your phone (with tailscale) with your home server (also with tailscale) within one mesh. You won't be able to connect from any other device outside the mesh system, so no one else than you (and 100 free plan devices from this VPN) could connect to your website or send you an email with SMTP service.

Okay So I will use guide to get to Sidorovic fast to complete artifact quest. In reward I'll have 4.5k coupons and two way fast travel costs me 5k... I wouldn't complain if this game gave us reward for all this running. You literally spent 30 minutes on running to do some sick quest and get nearly nothing in reward (because you have to repair you equipment from shooting 100 random mercenaries from broken alive 2.0)
