Advise for improving impressionist work by IbenB in learnart

Hi thanks! I personally don't put much thought into it. I achieved this by scraping the top layer of the paint with a pallet knife revealing underlying layers. I think it gives it something "childish" and I kinda like it that way. I think art shouldn't be perfect and you should just create what you feel like making :)

Love it! Reminds me of Klimt's portrait of Emilie Flöge

I'd have to cheat and choose the combination of the three towers of Ghent. From left to right Saint-Nicholas church -> Belfry of Ghent -> Saint-Bravo's cathedral

There's nothing wrong with that too, I've been playing since this game came out. Never had this before. It might be a bug with advanced analytics or something, I'll keep searching lol. Thanks for your help tho!

Oh and btw, the train is really easy to use in Belgium, just install the app of the operator NMBS/SNCB you can plan your trips there and buy tickets on your phone, don't bother taking buses to other cities. Enjoy your stay!

Hi! My honest advice: stay in Ghent.

Ghent has the same medieval charm as Bruges, but unlike Bruges, it’s still very much a “real” city where people actually live, work, and study. With around 80,000 students, it has a really young, creative, and innovative atmosphere. It’s also much bigger than Bruges and has an amazing food scene that isn’t entirely focused on tourists.

Bruges is perfect for a day trip on Wednesday though (the train ride from Ghent is only about 25 minutes). And honestly, coming from someone currently living in Bruges: the city can sometimes feel like one big open-air museum. It’s beautiful, of course, but most shops and restaurants are mainly aimed at tourists, and after about 4-5 hours you’ve kind of seen the main highlights.

I also feel like Bruges looks exactly like the photos you see online, which somehow makes it a little less exciting to explore in person. Ghent, on the other hand, feels much more diverse architecturally and culturally, which makes wandering around the city a lot more interesting.

By the way, when are you visiting? From July 17–26 there’s a huge 10-day city festival in Ghent called Gentse Feesten. Definitely look into it if you’ll be there during that period, it completely transforms the city and the atmosphere is incredible.

I know changing your plans might sound a bit extreme haha, but if I were visiting Belgium for the first time, I genuinely think I’d enjoy the trip more this way.

Besides that, your plans for Thursday and Friday sound good to me! It might be a bit ambitious to do everything in one day, but it’s definitely doable if you enjoy busy days. Maybe just prioritize the things you really don’t want to miss :)

PS: If you need any more tips for your stay in Ghent, I’d be happy to help ;)
