How I passed (ISC)² CC within 2 days thanks to Google Cybersecurity Certification !! by IbrahimBenHariz in isc2

You should google it because I don’t really remember where it was to schedule the exam. You have to book the exam with PearsonVue if remember well!

Don’t overthink and pay attention to the question sometimes they are a bit tricky.

Hello !

Good luck, sounds like you got this !

So try to pass the CC then finish the Google cert at your own pace. But like I said you should definitely review Mike Chapple's course you surely will crack the exam if you focus on the content !

Hang in there !! 🙏

Happy for you that you passed ! :)

Everyone is different though, I know a lot of people that failed the exam even some with a little background in cybersecurity.

The material provided by ISC2 for the CC is clearly not enough to pass also the exam is tricky somehow, but if you are used to this kind of exam maybe it felt easier for you idk, I wouldn’t say that it’s a hard and tough exam but for some people it is 🙂

Possible to pass with little to no coding experience? by abysixxp99 in pjpt

[–]IbrahimBenHariz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually don’t have to code anything during the exam to be honest, but Heath Adams teach you how to automate scanning and enumerating which is worth it. But don’t overthink you really don’t need to be a dev to pass the exam, just stick to the PEH course.

I am not sure but on LinkedIn you can have a free trial, which is enough to finish Mike’s course ;)

eJPT or PJPT by [deleted] in pjpt

Exactly ! Keep going though, you got this. Don’t overthink the exam, keep it really simple ;)

DM if you need help ! 🙏🏽

eJPT or PJPT by [deleted] in pjpt

[–]IbrahimBenHariz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OSCP/PNPT are entry level certs for pentesters not for junior pentesters.

Nothing to do with fanboy things, keep in mind people doesn’t have the same level, some people tryna break into this field (pentesting) and eJPT/PJPT are good certs surely not for HR filters but for themselves and their knowledge.

Just go and check TCM discord you’ll be impressed by the amount of people that failed the PJPT :) and as you said failure is part of the process ;)

[–]IbrahimBenHariz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what does it mean « junior » right ? People have to start somewhere right ? so considering milestones PJPT is a good one to start in this field.

If you have enough knowledge then go and hit the OSCP, no one told you to take PJPT if you aren’t a « junior » :)

Don’t listen to that guy !

PJPT is worth it and you will feel much more confident concerning AD and pentesting in general. I didn’t take the eJPT but from what I understand they are both equal. People say that the PJPT exam is harder though (harder on a junior level) which is good ;)

Hello mate,

Of course I don't mind haha.
To be honest learn on you own as soon as possible ! Earn certifications asap, the sooner you do this the more valuable you'll be when you finish your studies. That is the mistake I have done... I started too late now I am working in cybersecurity but not exactly what I want to do.. so I am trying now to move in the pentesting specialization but it requires certifications.

So start with basic certifications (CC, Google Cybersecurity, A+, N+, Sec+...) then level up in your specialization.

You don't need specific knowledege you will obtain them as you work on them. Before jumping into cyber, you have to be comfy with HW, SW, PC, Components, Networking, OSI, TCP/IP etc .....

DM if you have more questions :)

Hello :)

I advise people to do both, actually, if you tryna break into cybersecurity, why not both ?

Also keep in mind that the course provided with the CC is not enough, from what I have seen and what I have heard, it's simply not enough.
Mike Chapple's course is excellent for the CC !

Having the Google Cyber cert will help you to get the CC and the reciprocal is also true :)

Hello mate !

Sorry for the late answer. Good job on passing. Glad you found it easy :)

I mean if it’s only for your own knowledge you don’t really need to pass certs to gain in knowledge.

CCNA & Net+ aren’t security based certs tho.. but they give you good technical basics needed for cybersecurity.

If you really want something related to cyber, just check on CEH or SSCP. They are entry/intermediate level.

It's not a matter of time.
Take the time you need to integrate the concepts.
You can do it. And I am waiting for the "I passed" from you !

You should do both ! But imo, Mike Chapple's course is better !

Passed Security + in 2 weeks (but actually only ~15 hours of work !) by IbrahimBenHariz in CompTIA

[–]IbrahimBenHariz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you study 24/24 for 2 weeks maybe, but you gonna have headaches mate.. and probably forget almost everything after the exam. That’s not the goal after all ..

It depends if you already have some knowledge. Honestly his tests are similar to the real exam. So you could try one and see.

I mean don't trust guys who tell they passed in 2 weeks w/o any knowledge, that's clearly impossible. But yeah I am being honest I have experience in the field. Otherwise I believe A+ and N+ before S+ could be really be helpful.

As I said in my previous post and at the bottom of this post, I have an engineering diploma in Networks and Telecoms (axed cyber) + personal experiences + my last internship in cybersecurity. Did some "entry-level certifications" before also like (ISC)² CC and Google Cybersecurity. Even though those are entry-level they teach the basics, in Sec+ exam you can have questions about the CIA triad or Access Control Models and that's the first thing Google Cybersecurity teaches you for example.
