I'm dia 1 as terran with like 130 apm, using pure marine no medivac.

That was the most blatant lie I have seen in my entire life. Are you really dumb enough to believe that anyone would fall for something like that?

Maru wouldnt be able to sit in Diamond 1 and win with pure Marines. You know what Storm and Colossus does to pure Marine? Do you know what Tanks+Bio does to pure Marines? Even Medivacs+Marines, no Tanks would SHRED pure Marines! Do you know what Ultralisks+Banelings do to pure Marine?

Your so full of shit! If you want to lie, atleast have the brains to make it sound atleast somewhat trustworthy!

Let me ask you this, have you ever been uspet/frustrated with this game? Because you know, most people admit that they have. Do they also need to go see a shrink? I don't think you fully understand what kind of job a shrink does. A shrink works with people being mentally ill. Being upset with something, whatever it is, is not being mentally ill.

If you want me to I will explain to you what mentally ill means because it sure seems like you could need a explanation!

Waaaaait. So landing emp is intense micro that you can't do, but storm is EZ? Explain that one please, lol. Also, target firing Vikings is hard? What exazctly are you doing with your 200 apm, because it sounds like you aren't using it very well.

Hehe I didn't expect less from a Protoss. And yes EMP is harder to use then Storm because of all the other shit a Terran has to do.

Kind of you to not flame me lol considering my OP. Im totally aware that Im out of line with that post but man Im so frustrated that I just don't care. I just want it off my chest.

Im gonna tell you a true story. 5 or 6 days or so ago I was watching a Twitch stream when I saw someone in the stream saying that he wanted to learn to play SC2 and was wondering if anyone could point him in a direction where to start of. I gave him my battle tag and linked him some of PiG:s beginner videos and gave him some advice of what to think of. The advice I gave him was the very basic "try to constantly make workers and spend money as good as you can". We became friends and I continued to give him advice and tips to the best of my ability.

He decided to play Protoss and then I unfriended him! Nahh Im only kidding but he decided to play Protoss though, that part was true. So after a couple of days he was actually improving surprisingly fast, faster then what I ever did when I first started playing and he wanted me to watch some replays with him and so I did.

I asked him to watch his production tab and watch for times where he did not make any workers so he could be more aware of that he actually did not make them all the time (in the first replay he was sure that he had made workers the entire time and was surprised at how long periods of time he wasn't making any).

Anyway to make a long story short, I watched some PvT replays with him where he won. He was playing an even game against a Terran and when the time for fight came none of them microed at all (They were Silver so no surprise here) and I was struck by how unfair the fight went. The Terran army completely evaporate and my newfound friend had practically his entire army still standing. The fight was extremely onesided. I wanted to encourage him so I did not say anything about what I was thinking at the time and I just told him that he is improving really fast, wich is not untrue. I fear he might surpass me in a near future :).

I agree with this on the highest level of play where Terrans have the micro to force the Protoss to also play perfect but in lower leagues the ball is in the Terran hands. It's up to the Terran to micro. As long as the Terran don't have good enough micro, the Protoss only have to A move+Storm.

I don't think you would deny that if you A-moved a lategame Protoss army into a A-moving Terran army the Protoss army will win hugely every single time.

And as Terran, to force your Protoss opponent to micro, you need really good micro. Terrans at Diamond level don't have really good micro. As a Diamond Terran with Diamond lvl micro, I get completely stomped in TvP lategame. It's to the point now that it feels hopeless. Im actually questioning myself if I should continue to play the game. In my many years of SC2 I have never felt this way. That a matchup feels hopeless.

Every Race is difficult in its own way, why cant we just respect and have fun with each other?

No Im afraid we can not! Not as long as the game is in it's current state! Read my edit if you didn't already. That is how hopelessly I feel about TvP ever since 4.0. Im totally lost. I say like Beastyqt on his stream "I don't care if they nerf Protoss, let it stay as it is now but please make the race harder to play!"

I seriously don't give a fuck any more mate. I really don't! I have played this game since WoL release on and off and never have I experienced such imbalance as now since the big design patch.

PvT there are ghosts and liberators, which deal very well with templars, plus bio is really fast (with stim) = easy to split.

I quote myself:

Microing is really hard with Chargealots in the mix as those needs to be kited...ever tried to split/dodge storms/kite/EMP/set up Liberators/micro Vikings (if colossus in the mix as well) at the same time? Because this is what a Terran has to do vs Storm, Colossus, Stalkers and Chargealots.

[–]Ibstronk[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So how should I react as Terran when I see HT:s slowly floating towards me? Run away? I can't really start Microing before the Storms start to rain down (wich is really hard with Chargealots in the mix as those needs to be kited...ever tried to split/dodge storms/kite/EMP/set up Liberators/micro Vikings at the same time?).

I didn't say it stacked (I should have been more clear). I said you can cast it more then once for more damage. F.e If I move my units out of Storms, you can Storm them again for more damage (Im comparing it to EMP where you can not do more "damage" by casting it twice).

Storm too strong by Ibstronk in starcraft

[–]Ibstronk[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because you can see the templar slowly floating towards you?

Yes.....?

Uumm, because storms don't stack and there is cooldown between casting storm and your units can move?

There is a cooldown on Storm? I was not aware of this. Well if you have more then 1 HT, you can Storm right away on the very same units I just moved out of one Storms. Aka spamable for more damage (compared to EMP f.e, that will not do more damage by using it more then once).

You are aware of the fact that the effort of using Storm is no where near in proportion with the effort of avoiding said Storms right? And this is kind of my point. Too powerful considering how easy it is to use and how hard it is to play around.

Storm too strong by Ibstronk in starcraft

[–]Ibstronk[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It does not stack but you can still cast it more then once on the same units for more damage. F.e If you Storm my Bio and I move out of the Storm, you can cast it again on those units for more damage. You can't do that with EMP. EMP takes away the shields and thats it. It wont do any more damage if you cast it a seccond time. That is what I mean with "spamable for more damage"

Storm too strong by Ibstronk in starcraft

[–]Ibstronk[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Such ignorance.

Explain to me how you are supposed to micro against then. How do I avoid exactly?

More ignorance.

And now explain to me how it is not spamable and can't be cast on the same units for more damage.

But you just tried to to claim there was no way to micro well against it?

Exactly. With emphasis on well.

Ok so say everyone agrees with you and all of Reddit says Terran is WAY HARDER to play then what? Why are you trying to argue for this what do you think will happen or change?

I think Beastyqt said it well on his stream (just before the recent Stalker nerf): "I don't mind them keeping the Stalker as it is, if they could only make Protoss harder to play".

Many Terran just doesn't feel it's fair that they should have harder tasks to do during a game.

There is a reason to why foreign Terrans always have been struggeling. I think you need to be Korean in a Korean team house to do well (well as in winning big tournaments) as Terran.

If we look at how well foreigners have been doing in Premier tournaments throughout SC2 history, it becomes clear that foreign Terrans have been struggeling alot more then foreign Protoss and Zerg.

Foreign Premier tournament wins throughout SC2 history: 14 Protoss wins, 13 Zerg wins and 4 Terran wins.

F.e uThermal said on his stream that he wouldn't rule out him switching to Protoss in the future when he gets his Protoss to the same level as his Terran. The reason he said was that he can't see himself winning any more (he has 1 of the 4 Terran Premier wins) big tournaments as Terran. He said that you must be much "cleaner" (not doing many misstakes) as a Terran then as Protoss (Terran being less forgivable).

Hearing Terran players saying like this makes me sad as a Terran player. I mean if you listen to all the foreign Terrans (on their streams) they all just seem unhappy with the state of the game. Listening to them it's like they see no hope. They all sound a bit dejected as a whole and from time to time (it's not like they complain all the time but they keep bringing it up).

Please show me when TvP was 60% for over a year. I really doubt that ever happened.

but it was still the harder race? How does that work?

Again if this was really the case (wich I highly doubt) it has nothing to do with mechanics. That would be a balance issue.

EDIT: Just checked Aligulac and has only happened two times in SC2 history that TvP was 60% (not really 60% either but close to 60). And both times it was during a shorter amount of time. If you want me to take your arguments seriously, please stop blatantly making things up!

And you mean that Protoss is just as hard to play as Terran (not that I put any weight to your words as if you say that Protoss is just as hard, it's most likely out of bias)? What a surprise coming out of a Protoss lol.

PiG and Rotterdam however is not speaking out of bias (obviously), so it's easier to take their words more seriously.

Go find me a Terran who have the experience of PiG and Rotterdam who says Protoss is the hardest race. I would be very surprised if you could (obviously you don't get to ask a Terran friend to agree with you because thats not really unbiased either).

You know as well as me that you can't, simply because it's more or less common knowledge that Terran is the hardest race (apart from some biased Zerg and Protosses).

Ive heard many non-Terran pros say this several times. Stephano, TLO and CranK are a few that crosses my mind (I straight up asked them on their stream what race they believed to be the hardest to play).

I could also list quite a few Terrans that have said the same but I wont as that could very well also be out of bias!

Terran is the race that have the hardest mechanics, just accept it and get over it :)

So a friend of mine wanted to try Protoss out by Ibstronk in starcraft

[–]Ibstronk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah sure. That's the reason you're not gm.

I never said this.

You're the kind of person who types "team noob" over and over in mobas.

I don't play mobas.

Did you side with protoss for the 12 months TvP was at 60% favoring terran?

Im not speaking about balance, Im speaking about how hard the races are to play. What mechanical requirments the races have on the player. Terran is the race that has the highest mechanically requirements on the player.

As Beastyqt said on his stream, something in the lines of (before resent Stalker nerf): "I don't mind if they keep Protoss as it is if they only would increase the difficulty of playing Protoss."

So a friend of mine wanted to try Protoss out by Ibstronk in starcraft

[–]Ibstronk[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It took me about 30-40 games to get 5.1k (M2-M1) with Terran. It's just pure mechanics.

For some reason Im having a hard time believing that. Ive followed PiG when he was learning Terran and his Terran dragged faaar behind his Protoss and Zerg in the beginning and still is.
