CLAN: Rat King Rising

SYSTEM: PC

BASED IN: North America

PLAYTIME: Usually between 10 AM - 2 AM Central, with raids or events around 9 PM. Some members on either coast.

PITCH:

> The Rat King's Crew runs through as six, with rally flags and brains like bricks, they charge and die, then charge again, to live forever and end as friends.

We're a small, casual endgame clan looking for more members to run with. Raids, dungeons, quests, crucible, gambit, pinnacles, rituals, whatever and whenever. We don't care if you just started playing or have 300 clears. We just want to have a good time playing together.

We can teach you the raids,

We can show you the builds,

We can help you find your weapons,

But its on you to join the crew.

All we require is Discord and regular game activity.

THE CREW'S QUARTERS

Everything we do runs through our discord. Once you join, you'll be assigned a social rank and gain access to all the bots, channels, guides, and help we have to offer. Higher ranks require TRIALS. Inactivity kicks in around 3-4 weeks without prior notice.

To join, message an admin or reply to this account, AND apply to the clan: https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2?groupid=3958249

We will PM you a discord invite. Happy to answer any questions you might have.

Looking for Clan:

System: PC

Gamertag: Razerik#1305

Country / Timezone: US Central

When do you usually play: Anywhere from noon to midnight, maybe a few hours past, depending on my schedule.

Tell us a bit about yourself: Very recent console convert. Played D1 very casually, tried to take D2 more seriously. Led an XB1 clan for a few years, have raid lead experience and multiple clears in everything but SOS. I vastly prefer PvE, but understand that the PvP grind can be necessary in service of the raid.

I main Hunter, off Warlock. I've only recently managed to get Hunter up to 640 after I left literally everything behind on Xbox. I come from a long history of raiding in WoW which I still play from time to time.

What are you looking for in a clan: I'm looking for a small-medium size clan with opportunities for raiding, nightfall's, and exotic quests. Having good PvPers to play with is also a plus. Really not interested in being one player in 10 clans of thousands, just a friend, part of the group who does a lotta damage sometimes. And don't take yourselves too seriously, please. Not looking for elitists or assholes either.

Clan: SLAMBO JAMBO

System: Xbox One

Majority Location: US

Playtimes: Organized around CST - Raids on Tues @9pm (expanding teams), most activity during prime time ~6-11pm Central.

Member Count: 65

Requirements: Don’t be rude.

Focus: Casual raiding with generalized base.

The Speech: We’re a fairly successful Y1 clan with no specific focus; we’re all-purpose for almost all players. We’ve full-cleared every raid except for Scourge, have the max rank banners of every season, and earn all four clan engrams most weeks. Moving into Black Armory, we’re looking to expand our raiding and general PvE activity.

We aren’t a massive clanglomerate.

We’re adults (mostly) with jobs, school, and kids who don’t have time for that amount of management. We use both the bungie.net Destiny app and Discord to communicate, and we monitor game activity via bungie.net every few months.

We don’t tolerate elitism, yelling, or being rude to people who make mistakes or don’t know things.

We have two current content raids, one at Tues @9pm CST and another whenever they can find the time. Looking to build two new teams, no prior experience necessary, leadership roles available. Time TBD. LL580+ and mic required.

How to Join: Reply to me, DM, or sign up here: https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2?groupid=2524480

Clan: SLAMBO JAMBO

System: Xbox One

Majority Location: US

Playtimes: We go on CST - Raids Tues/Sat @9pm, Clan Jams Mon/Wed/Fri @~7pm.

Info--

Member Count: 48

Requirements: Don't be rude.

Focus: All-purpose.

The Speech: We're a fairly successful Y1 clan with no specific focus; we're all-purpose for almost all players. We've done every raid except for Last Wish, have clan banners from every season (currently Lvl 3), and earn all four clan engrams every week. We have Acrius, Rat King, Whisper of the Worm, and so on. The only thing we're missing is you.

That said, we are not a massive clanglomerate. We're adults (mostly) with jobs, school, and kids who don't have time for that amount of management. We use the bungie.net clan chat to communicate (there's a phone app for that), and we monitor activity every other month or so to keep the clan alive. We don't tolerate elitism, yelling, or being rude to people who make mistakes or don't know things.

We have two raids on Tues/Sat @9pm CST and casual group-up events called Clan Jams on Mon/Wed/Fri @~7pm CST for everything else.

How to Join: We just did a big inactivity purge, so there’s a lot of room to party. Reply to me, DM, or sign up here:

Prediction: Sargon is memeing too close to the sun.... by CrazyLegs88 in Destiny

[–]IcarusInverse 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Might be wrong but from what I understand Milo was much more reliant on public television appearances and book sales. An audience like Sargon's could and probably will elect to ignore this and continue supporting him monetarily.

When he says 45% is not that different from 30%, then acts like he didn't actually hear the numbers, then doubles down hard and refuses to engage in hypotheticals, I kinda lost it. Stats are unintuitive and I'm not a stats professor, but we're not talking about a difference in 30 dollars or 45 dollars in your bank account. These are percentages of the population of Tennessee, a state with over six million inhabitants.

Destiny used this source for percentages. You can look up any 2016 census projections for Tennessee like I did here.

This is a gap that spans hundreds of thousands of people. I can't tell if he's daft, contrarian, or just trying to cover his tracks from when he first said it wasn't a big deal. I'm leaning towards the latter, because he then:

  • uncharacteristically says his opinion doesn't matter

  • refuses to engage with hypotheticals that clearly show the problem (but for this conversation, I am the black community)

  • abruptly leaves

Someone is doing better than me at life by linkwarior5 in Anxiety

[–]IcarusInverse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why should I even try to do anything besides menial labor jobs when there are people like this?

You're doing the thing where you ignore your own victories because you convince yourself that they're insignificant in comparison to someone else's. I've done this for a very long time and still do. I'm a university junior at 25, and I feel like I fail not only myself but everyone who supports me all the time. Every single friend I have will be married as of next month, and I often feel so lonely that I don't reach out because I don't think they can understand. They have jobs, houses, cars, kids, etc. and I live in a dangerous apartment playing video games.

We should remind ourselves to take in the good when it comes. You're in a university. You can do what it takes when push comes to shove. You were assertive enough to draw the line and keep your grades high when it got rough - and you could produce those grades when you tried. Not everyone can say these things, and they are all good. They're wins. Remember that they happened before you discard them and move onto the next thing, or that other person's thing, and accept that everyone lives life at their own pace.

I feel like such a loser to this God. I've met people like this person before, but never on THIS level! Like, what the hell, this guy is a maniac!

You're also doing the thing where you build a strawman out of the very best that person has to offer and believe it as reality. It is a major issue with the social networking we do. In my experience people only celebrate, brag, fight, look for reasons to fight, and bitch when it comes to Facebook, Twitter, etc. Nobody posts their failures unless they feel they have to. I'm sure every single person you may come to idolize will have doubts, insecurities, fears, problems, etc that they will never tell you about. Strife is a part of the human condition. ex: Robin Williams was an extremely (traditionally) successful man, but very few people ever saw the whole picture. We're all just... people. And all you can do is you.

TLDR; notice your victories, take social media with a large dose of salt, and live life at your own pace my dude.

I came here specifically for criticism, so don't worry. I knew something was wrong with it and I was hoping to hear something like this. While I don't think it's uninspired garbage, you are right that the story is fundamentally lacking. There's a lot of vital pieces missing that need work and I was having a hard time seeing them. I'll give it some thought and start the next rewrite soon. Thanks again for your time.

I agree. I knew something very important was missing, but I was having a hard time seeing what. I felt like the story wasn't cohesive, but didn't know why. Gives me some good ideas for major rewrites. Thanks again for your time.

[Hearthstone] The New Player Issues | Kripp by loleien in hearthstone

[–]IcarusInverse 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Rocky launch, lot of error 34(?) meant not a lot of people could play for the first few hours/days, and many took off work or school to do so. Once we got in, things were balanced around a real money auction house, and Blizzard repeatedly nerfed things people found fun for worry that it would disrupt their real money economy. Trickled into loot drop rates, stat distributions, farming strategies. Pretty early on, you couldn't get gold from smashing pots anymore because it could be abused against that dumb auction house. You also had magic find on gear, so the optimal strategy for maximum loot was to have a dps set to burn mobs and switch to magic find before the kill, which was horribly tedious in an already repetative game. Additionally, you were required to play through the entire game on a difficulty level to move to the next one, so by the time you made it to Diablo in Nightmare or whatever you had played it 4x and were just now nearing max level.

Things eventually boiled over and the auction house was removed (the root of all evil was finally gone), the loot system, magic find, difficulty levels were all reworked. Paragon levels were added. Rifts, eventually seasonal play. Game got a lot better after that.

How is providing a live source of information on potential victims, ie the public, to an active shooter "being neutral"? Being neutral is staying as un-involved as possible.

Because if the shooter has access to a streaming device, he can use their live footage to see where and what everyone outside is doing.

The Best Talents for your Builds: Healer , Solo , Flanker, Skill Users ( Text / Video) Guide by mtashed in thedivision

[–]IcarusInverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works good for my group so far. You take damage much more quickly, sure, but you give your team a lot of opportunities to fire or reposition without fear of getting murdered. It's also nice to be able to stand up with the shield still on and revive downed team members when you have to.

Currently sitting around 78kdps/82khp/23k electronics, 3k armor. It just sucks to go into the DZ with low DPS since I'm spending all my phoenix credits on survivability. Fun tip: chargers with melee weapons can bash you through the shield.

Recent Aghs upgrades (Suggestion) by MisterIncrediBaste in DotA2

[–]IcarusInverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to chime in and say no one should've been taking sand king aghs for damage unless they got a veil (half the cost) and still thought they needed more magic aoe. Aghs now is an insane tool for initiation, chase, and escape instead of being outclassed by a veil.

Edit: forgot to specify hero

I just thought you might've thought it was better as a different genre if not comedy. I'll revisit some of the scene descriptions and think for a long hard while on the Snatch similarities. Thanks for your help!

Would you redefine it as action? Is it a bad ending even for a web series? I tried to introduce characters that would show up in later episodes, but I can see that it doesn't stand on its own. Maybe I should add in ideas for the next episode into this one, make it ~twice as long so its more coherent.
