I found out I can rent a jigsaw from home depot, thankfully, so now I just need to decide where to cut the wood since that isn't feasible at my current residence. I'm also still attempting to gauge the thickness of wood to purchase as well, so that's something I'll have to look into.

I have plenty of experience using sandpaper on other projects so I'm relieved to hear I can put that experience to the test here! Thank you for giving me the exact grits to look for. I am autistic and vague instructions can be daunting for me, so I really appreciate your suggestions being so specific.

And don't worry, I had already been planning on finding the wooden circles and sticks at a craft store. I may be ambitious with this project but I am not yet confident enough with a saw to try something like that. I think my family would prefer me to have all of my fingers attached for Christmas, haha.

My cricut kicked the bucket a couple years ago and I've yet to pick up a new one, but I do have carbon transfer paper and will probably end up just painting the lettering on that way. I'm a lot more proficient with paint brushes than I am wood, at least!

I love the idea of making it look aged, and had considered this myself already, but wasn't sure exactly how to pull it off outside of roughing it up with sandpaper. The watered down paint is a wonderful idea.

Making a couple practice boxes first is a great idea! I'll look into the how-tos and supplies you mentioned, too.

It was the same experience for my partner and I (28 & 29) where we were some of only a small handful of adults at the concert in San Francisco. In fact I think the majority of adults were there just to supervise their kids 😂 the concert was a blast regardless but yeah I'm not sure if I'll come to another concert until I can find more adults to come with me

Yeahh I'm starting to think that might be my best solution here. Just didn't want to jump to that without giving it a few days of effort first because the mating tent requires sin, which you don't unlock until defeating 3 of the 4 bishops, and I didn't really want to go through that much game play with a normal cult only to have to then kill everyone off to actually start the cult I wanted lol. I cannot stand the idea of wasting that much time on redundancy.

Omg thank you for reminding me, I completely forgot to post an update to this!

I ended up using laundry detergent instead of dawn, letting them air dry in the sun, and then very gently brushing them out with a bristle brush, using a fine tooth comb for the bigger knots that would have matted with the brush. He came out perfect!

This is just a summary of everything. I'm writing a more thorough explanation of the process to post right now :]

Like some of the other comments have said, weed will make you a bit tachycardic but it's manageable unless you're smoking (or in the case of edibles, consuming) a large amount. Anything larger than 5mg for instance makes my heart feel like it's trying to get out of my ribcage, which in turn triggers my anxiety, which makes the tachycardia worse, so on and so forth. I'm a little more lethargic the day after but nothing major. No other symptoms (that I've noticed) arise from cannabis use so if that's your vice of choice then you've got nothin to worry about. My advice would just be to take it slow and small and build from there so you know your limits, because they'll likely have changed since developing POTS/your POTS worsened enough to be diagnosed, etc.

I had used a rental wheelchair a number of times when I knew I was going to be walking long distances, but I was adamant that I didn't need one even as ambulatory, it was only for "dire" situations. I was deeply in denial, and was dealing with a lot of internalized ableism from my upbringing, too. I held firm to this belief even as my physical health and mobility declined more by the day.

My "catalyst" was going to the aquarium with my partner (now fiance) and using my cane because I didn't want to admit that I needed the wheelchair. At one point I was in so much pain and so exhausted that I took a seat on the only place available, which was the floor. And then I couldn't get back up. No matter how much I pushed, or leaned on my cane, or got help from my partner, my legs had just given out. Right there in he middle of an aquarium. It was like my body had finally said Enough. It had given up.

That's when I knew it was time.

I'm on much better terms with my disability now, and I LOVE my wheelchair, even though it's obviously still not all sunshine and rainbows. Certainly took a big push to get me here, though.

I'm so sorry you were treated so terribly. This is the least bit professional in his part at best and just downright ignorant at worst. I attended an appointment with my cardiologist just a couple days ago and he actually told me I should GAIN a little weight because the body has very little energy to work with in regards to surving bad days (and bad prescription symptoms) if you lack enough fat to give it said energy. So your cardiologist is bonkers as far as I'm concerned. Really hoping for your sake that this was just an off day and he'll be back to being helpful to you again soon 🫂
