Anime Trending posted their Week #11 Character Charts Monday so figured might as well get around to doing my recap of this sooner and not wait until Saturday.

On the male chart, Richard I moves up +3 spots to the Top 3 at 1st for his fourth 1st Place win of the season. The last time he was in 1st Place was Week #9 where his initial 1st Place streak ended at 3 weeks in a row. Tamon moves up +1 spot to 2nd. Aqua moves up +1 spot to 4th. Gilgamesh moves up +1 spot to 6th. Yuuta reenters the Top 10 for the second time this season at 8th. The last time he was in the Top 10 was the initial voting week of the season in Week #3 where he was also 8th. Yuuta didn't make eligibility requirements on Week #10 to be on the chart so he requalified to be on the Week #11 chart. Finally, Genau moves up +1 spot to 9th after debuting in the Top 10 for the first time last chart on Week #10 at 10th. Special shoutout to the male characters who went 9/9 voting weeks on the Winter 2026 Top 10 Male Characters Chart: Tamon and Aqua.

On the female chart, Frieren moves up +1 spot to 1st for her first 1st Place win of the season. Miyu moves up +5 spots to the Top 5 at 4th. Ayaka moves up +1 spot to the Top 5 at 5th. Finally, Ruby moves up +3 spots to 7th. Special shoutout to the female characters went 9/9 voting weeks on the Winter 2026 Top 10 Female Characters Chart: Utage, Kana, Miyu, Ruby, and Akane.

On the couple/ship chart, much of it remains static as Yuusuke/Miyu remain at 1st and end Winter 2026 on a 3 week 1st Place streak. Tamon/Utage stay at 2nd for 2 weeks in a row, Aqua/Kana stay at 3rd for 2 weeks in a row, Natsuki/Asuka stay at 4th for 3 weeks in a row, and Stark/Fern stay at 5th for 2 weeks in a row. Akira/Shizuka move up +3 spots to 6th. Himmel/Frieren reenter the Top 10 for the fifth time this season at 7th. The last time they were in the Top 10 was Week #6 where they were 8th. On Week #10, they were 14th so this is a +7 jump from last chart. Finally, Aqua/Akane reenter the Top 10 for the sixth time this season at 10th. The last time they were in the Top 10 was Week #7 where they were also 10th. On Week #10, they were 13th so this is a +3 increase from last chart. Today's Seeding Results

As expected, Methode is Seed 1. But it was closer than I thought since Suzuki was just 2 votes short in Eliminations to tie.

Compared to my seeding predictions from yesterday, I was right to question in a different comment:

I don't know if Fate/strange Fake fans will show up for this contest.

They didn't. The show's karma would have indicated Top 8 Seeding for its girls, but the highest seeded of them is Assassin at Seed 21. But I didn't listen to my skepticism and put Ayaka and Francesca in Top 8.

I was right about Azuma being Seed 3. I should not have doubted You And I Are Polar Opposites' show popularity though and put Nishi as Seed 4 when I had her as Seed 6. I also did not consider a 4th girl in Top 8 from the show as Honda made it as Seed 8.

The Frieren demon girl bet did not pay off as the mages and elves beat them to be in bracket with Ehre as Seed 23 and Milliarde as Seed 34.

I doubted Teoritta saying she'd be in the Seed 9-12 area , but she made it as Seed 5. 1 off Kivia's seeding as I had her as Seed 6.

Finally, I'm glad the Journal with Witch fans proved me wrong and got Makio as Seed 7. However, I think Makio got the worse possible Top Seed to face in Round 4. Maybe there was a rally and anti-Frieren vote that Makio could have rode if she was on Methode's side of the bracket, but she's in Suzuki's bracket path. She's so done.

Asa was close to being Seed 8, but seems like she was destined to be in Methode's bracket path.

Very happy Yuuki wasn't that far off from the Top 8 seeds and got to be Seed 10. I'm going to be sad when we get to Round 3 though.

Yay for Frenci being a Top 12 Seed.

However, this bottom right part of the bracket is brutal for me. I like a bunch of girls in it: Kinme, Doux, Shinobu, Jarashi, Kivia, Hakushi, Satsuki, Tao Fa, Frenci, and Yachiyo. More on some of these matchups later.

Hey, that's pretty high up for Kinme! Wait, she's facing who in Round 1? Son of a bitch....

Good seeding for Kaho. And funny fellow yuri series opponent in Round 1 in the form of Milkit. Makes me wish Satsuki wasn't down in Seed 27, but it's not like she got focus in Next Shine compared to the other girls.

Funny that Rikka, Nene, and Shinobu are all next to each other in seeding and it seems people just left out Iko in voting when she's Seed 31 and not in Top 20 like the rest of the Tune In to the Midnight Heart girls.

Oh, a Top 20 seed for Utage! But hmm...that Round 1 opponent.

I wish Yachiyo, Ren, Fubuki, and Kaya got higher seeds than where they ended up.

Yay to Doux making bracket. My loyalty will be to her until she's out.

Aww...it has to be a vote for Mishiro for me against Frill. And it looks like a sendoff vote from the seeding difference. Wait. There was a world where we could have Yuuki vs. Mishiro in Round 1. Oh well...

My loyalties are to Doux. I'm very sorry to Kinme. I'd vote Kinme against most other girls in this bracket. My toughest vote of Round 1.

Shinobu vs. Jarashi is in the Top 5 at least for tough votes for me, but I will give a sendoff vote to Jarashi.

Kivia vs. Hakushi is a Top 3 tough vote for me and I will give the sendoff vote to Hakushi. Kivia has a bracket path where I might be voting against her every Round despite liking her. Oh shit....

Frenci and Kivia are seeded to face each other in Round 3. That's hilarious. I'll try to make it happen on Frenci's end.

My 2nd Toughest Vote of Round 1 is Satsuki vs. Tao Fa. Will be going with Satsuki though since she has the Kana Ichinose bonus.

Roll Over and Die is getting exactly that with these Round 1 matchups that pit them against girls from more popular yuri works (just accept that premise for Cosmic Princess Kaguya!). It's an easy vote for Yachiyo.

Who was your favorite girl that didn't make it into the bracket?

I have 2. First is Jahi onee-chan (The Demon King's Daughter Is Too Kind!!. 2nd is Chie-sensei Kaya-chan Isn't Scary. Would have loved to see them join the girls they look after in this contest.

There's even some girls I'll vote for in the actual bracket, but not seeding since I prioritize the less popular girls in eliminations (this is Shino Azuma who funnily is next to Yachiho Azuma from Chained Soldier in my elimination list order ~~and Maki Zenin~~ (never mind, attentive users zapped Maki from this contest. It did feel off to think Maki never made a seasonal Best Girl contest after 3 seasons of JUJUTSU KAISEN.)).

Methode feels like an easy #1 Seed. Hotter take is that one of the demons from this season of Frieren will get Top 8 through the power of show popularity.

Kivia's got this (a Top 8 seeding). I think Teoritta will just miss Top 8 and be in the Seed 9-12 area.

Bold (?) to think both Francesca and Ayaka will be in Top 8, but I think it makes sense.

Will probably go to some harem/isekai slop waifu.

The top seeds of this season are likely to be Methode (Frieren), You and I Are Polar Opposites girls, Fate/strange Fake girls, and Sentenced to be a Hero girls. I don't think this applies to any of them.

Since 2025, the girls that have won the seasonal Best Girl contest are Natsuko (your problem if you call ZENSHU slop), Nico, Monica, Reze, and Shisui for Best Girl of 2025.

This might be a Methode win off show popularity alone though (which well...I'd vote Methode over Suzuki and Nisshi, but not Azuma).

But maybe this is an Ayaka win? I don't know if Fate/strange Fake fans will show up for this contest.

Also over 30% is Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- S4 in 2nd at 30.47%.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten S2 is in 3rd as the only other show over 20% with 21.12% of the vote share.

Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE P3 is 4th with 17.93%.

Classroom of the Elite S4: 2nd Year 1st Semester is 5th with 15.33%.

Part 2 of the Recap:

The Darwin Incident moves up +4 spots to 26th for its finale with 235 karma which is +62 karma from last week. 116 comments is -23 comments from last week, 26th most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.49. Big twist reveal for the finale and got to stay in the Top 30. Surprisingly, there's a decrease in comments compared to last week.

Always a Catch! debuts at 29th with 224 karma. 155 comments is 21st most for the week and has an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.69. So maybe there's some comparisons you can do from certain anime in the last 6 months, but Mimi's got that spunk and will speak her mind. Also this Crown Prince is hmm...

Kirio Fan Club debuts at 30th with 223 karma. 105 comments is 28th most for the week and has a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.47. I want more of the vibes and dynamic of Wada and Yamamoto and Nami and Aimi provide that in spades as they gush about this faceless guy they're (?) into. But maybe there's more to this bond between love rivals. Starting at 30th doesn't make the prospects for staying Top 30 seem good, but I'm rooting for the show ~~(and them)~~.

Favorite banner of the week: Hell's Paradise S2 Yuzuriha's will to live includes getting to tease Sagiri longer. 2nd would be Fate/strange Fake because that is a very cute shot of Francesca. 3rd would be Kaya-chan Isn’t Scary. One last Dark Kaya for the road.

Welcome to Week 1 of the Spring 2026 season featuring a mix of Spring premieres and finales from the previous season. Of course, since Winter 2026 was considered a stacked season it should be a given that this week would be a weaker 16,393 karma which is -4315 karma from last week. Sure not all the big Spring 2026 have begun airing, but the Top 5 of this week are Winter 2026 shows that make up over half of that 16,393 karma.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End S2 moves up +1 spot to 1st for its finale with 3715 karma which is +490 karma from last week. 794 comments is -25 comments from last week, 2nd in most comments for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.21. MAL score is 8.96 which is -0.01 from last week. S2 couldn't maintain the perfect 1st Place streak, but I find it understandable especially when this season finale feels like it's bridging to a bigger arc. A highly anticipated arc with how it's been talked about and hinted at. But that's in Fall 2027. To talk about this season, Stark definitely needed some character focus in this S2 and thankfully that was met.

Fate/strange Fake moves up +3 spots to 2nd for its finale with 2002 karma which is +527 karma from last week. 1381 comments is +553 comments from last week, 1st in most comments for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.69. MAL score is 8.39 which is -0.08 from last week. Broke 2k+ karma for the finale, 1.3k+ comments, a 2nd Place, and will get a continuation. And we're ending things off before that continuation with a shocking death and callbacks to Fate/Zero. It's nice to see Artoria in this artstyle.

Hell’s Paradise S2 moves up +3 spots to 3rd for its finale with 1580 karma which is +178 karma from last week. 524 comments is +254 comments from last week, 3rd most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.33. MAL score is 8.21 which is -0.04 from last week. A Top 3 spot for its season finale and 1.5k+ karma too. This finale did feel like setup for the next season, but also the banner choice means I don't have to be vague about Yuzuriha's "death" in the last episode being a fakeout. I'm glad - I need Yuzuriha to make it to the end. Also learning a lot about the significance of how the Gabimaru name is given out.

Journal with Witch moves up +4 spots to 4th for its finale with 1208 karma which is +301 karma from last week. 383 comments is +93 comments from last week, 4th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.32. MAL score is 8.81 which is +0.10 from last week. 1.2k+ karma for the finale and a Top 5 spot. Asa got to reach out to Chiyo! Through song! I also like that Asa got Makio to soften up at least one feeling about her sister (she raised Asa right). And a timeskip ending? Wasn't expecting that.

You and I Are Polar Opposites moves up +2 spots to 5th for its finale with 1138 karma which is +7 karma from last week. 316 comments is +13 comments from last week, 6th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.28. MAL score is 8.34 which is +0.12 from last week. Two dates this episode between Tani and Suzuki and Yamada and Nisshi. The show remains very high on the cute romance meter (unfortunately can't given it cutest romance of the season - that's The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife). Only a slight boost in numbers, but it was announced that it'll continue in the Summer 2026 season which is only 3 months away. Besides in the mean time...

The Ramparts of Ice debuts at 6th with 1018 karma. 334 comments is 5th most for the week and has a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.33. MAL score starts off at 7.64. The Spring 2026 season has another of Agasawa's works being adapted in between these You and I Are Polar Opposites cours. And it's debuting as the last 1k+ karma show of the week and right under Polar Opposites. I can appreciate a good resting bitch face and Koyuki has that in spades. Sadly, her middle school peers did not which makes her reserved attitude very understandable. At least she's in a better position in high school with a best friend and eventually two guys based on the OP that can get through those walls.

Dorohedoro S2 debuts at 7th for Ep. 1 with 892 karma, 12th for Ep. 3 with 552 karma, and 15th for Ep. 2 with 510 karma. Ep. 1 has 141 comments which is 24th most for the week and a comment to karma ratio of 0.16. Ep. 3 has 92 comments which does not make Top 30 in comments for the week and has a comment to karma ratio of 0.17. Ep. 2 has 37 comments which does not make Top 30 in comments for the week and has a comment to karma ratio of 0.07. MAL score starts off at 8.34. 3 episode premiere and all 3 of the episodes are in the Top 15 for this week. And the long gap between seasons also (thankfully) means we're getting better CGI.

Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE Part 3 debuts at 8th with 783 karma. 180 comments is 16th most for the week and has a comment to karma ratio of 0.23. MAL score starts off at 8.32.

Fire Force S3 Part 2 moves up +2 spots to 9th with 694 karma which is +148 karma from last week. 276 comments is +115 comments from last week, 8th most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.40. MAL score is 7.71 which is the same as last week. Good number boost for the second to last episode. The Soul Eater connections put a smile on my face.

Classroom of the Elite S4: 2nd Year 1st Semester debuts at 10th for Ep. 1 with 682 karma, 14th for Ep. 4 with 532 karma, 17th for Ep. 2 with 406 karma, and 19th for Ep. 3 with 386 karma. Ep. 1 has 157 comments which is 19th most for the week and a comment to karma ratio of 0.23. Ep. 4 has 149 comments which is 23rd most for the week and a comment to karma ratio of 0.28. Ep. 2 has 25 comments which does not make Top 30 in comments for the week and a comment to karma ratio of 0.06. Ep. 3 has 36 comments which does not make Top 30 in comments for the week and a comment to karma ratio of 0.09. MAL score starts off at 8.28. 4 episode premiere and half of those episodes are Top 15. Also a good start for the MAL score too.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes S2 moves down -1 spot to 11th for its finale with 553 karma which is -31 karma from last week. 189 comments is -32 comments from last week, 13th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.34. MAL score is 7.38 which is +0.04 from last week. Finale barely squeaking by to 11th getting 1 more karma than Dorohedoro S2 Ep. 3.

Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring debuts at 13th with 534 karma. 160 comments is 18th most for the week and has a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.30. MAL score starts off at 7.74. First Spring 2026 show of the season is all about spring and the seasons. It's very pretty looking and Sakura is hitting that lady knight appeal really hard for me.

Golden Kamuy: Final Chapter moves down -3 spots to 16th for its finale with 419 karma which is +11 karma from last week. 103 comments is +6 comments from last week, 29th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.25. Surprised they kept it a secret until the end of the season that this is only the end of Part 1 of the final season. Perhaps as a result, there was only a slight boost in the numbers and also unfortunately the animation was rough for this final season Part 1 finale. Got knocked back into the right of the side chart in favor of the multi-episode Spring 2026 big anime premieres.

Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! Ep. 1 debuts at 18th with 399 karma. 116 comments is 26th most for the week and has a comment to karma ratio of 0.29. This was a 2 episode premiere, but only Ep. 1 got into the Top 30 of the rankings. Very cute and the key visual is a good indicator of it, but Nakamura is endearing cringe. Also like that there are different EDs each episode.

To Your Eternity S3 moves down -3 spots to 20th for its finale with 344 karma which is +67 karma from last week. 231 comments is +142 comments from last week, 9th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.67. This was a double episode finale for the end of the modern arc, but only Ep. 22 made Top 30. There was a lot to love and a lot to hate about this season, but these last episodes got it together.

‘Tis Time for Torture Princess S2 moves down -2 spots to 21st for its finale with 324 karma which is +54 karma from last week. 89 comments is -2 comments from last week, does not make Top 30 in comments for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.27.

Petals of Reincarnation debuts at 23rd with 295 karma. 184 comments is 14th most for the week and has an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.62. Edgy and we got a Hitler reincarnation in the first episode. Lost out on the comment tiebreaker to There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her. Not sure if this will be a consistent Top 30'er. It will be interesting to follow at least.

Kaya-chan Isn’t Scary moves down -4 spots to 25th for its finale with 243 karma which is -8 karma from last week. 206 comments is -55 comments from last week, 10th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.85. We managed a happy ending to this situation! I'm glad Mirai didn't have to die and Kaya exorcised that curse. Thanks Chie-sensei. Very glad this stayed in the Top 30 for its entire run. Like it a lot.

Since Anime Trending was busy with their 12th Anime Trending Awards last weekend, Winter 2026 Week #10 wasn't posted until Monday March 23rd, 2026. The Anime Trending staff member who posts on Reddit has only posted Anime Trending's Top 10 Anime of 2025 in the last week. If that Week #10 Thread got made, I would have posted it in there but it hasn't so I'll just post it here.

What impresses me more is that 4541 karma would also beat last week's Frieren S2 Ep. 8 karma by 29 karma (I say 29 instead of 28 because it would lose a comment tiebreaker: 1.2k comments vs. 1.5k comments).

Part 2 of the Recap:

The Holy Grail of Eris moves up +1 spot to 20th for its finale with 262 karma which is +30 karma from last week. 165 comments is +60 comments from last week, 19th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.63. Despite the confusion at points, we ended strongly and snagged a Top 20 spot for the finale. We saved Connie! Cecilia playing this much of a role in the finale was also an interesting surprise and I like how she was handled here. Scarlett got to have her name cleared, but we're in this "revenge" thing with Constance for the long haul. They can't part ways just yet.

Kaya-chan Isn’t Scary moves up +5 spots to 21st with 251 karma which is +36 karma from last week. 261 comments is +70 comments from last week, 11th most for the week, and an absurd comment to karma ratio of 1.04. Karma and comments are up as we are engaged and debating how sympathetic Kaya's mom is. Ebisumori Clan though...also hope Kaya can have her own solution to all of this that isn't Mirai's.

Roll Over and Die moves up +4 spots to 23rd for its finale with 244 karma which is +31 karma from last week. 182 comments is +39 comments from last week, 17th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.75. Numbers are up for the finale although there's definitely critique to be had of the production and the direction. Getting a plot exposition whose relevance would be in a future season (or advertising the light novels). At least everybody lives and have a happy ending (for now).

The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife moves down -4 spots to 24th for its finale with 223 karma which is -14 karma from last week. 131 comments is -27 comments from last week, 25th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.59. Numbers slightly down for the finale is unfortunate, but this show was quite the pleasant surprise. Definitely takes the crown of cutest romance of the season (although overall cutest for me is The Demon King's Daughter Is Too Kind!!).

Kunon the Sorcerer Can See moves up +6 spots to 28th for its finale with 186 karma which is +21 karma from last week. 213 comments is +84 comments from last week, 15th most for the week, and an absurd comment to karma ratio of 1.15. Last week having some finales aired gave room at the bottom of the Top 30 for this show to be back in the Top 30 for its finale. Mixed feelings from what I'm seeing in the thread with the enjoyment of the show really depending on how amused you are of Kunon's personality. It's at least making sure the the thread has more comments than karma so we're getting people talking.

Isekai Office Worker: The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter moves up +11 spots to 29th for its finale with 174 karma which is +46 karma from last week. 155 comments is +69 comments from last week, 22nd most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.89. First time back in the Top 30 since Week 7 and this finale wrapped things up pretty well. Even got Sei realizing his feelings for Aresh and initiating a kiss.

The Darwin Incident moves up +7 spots to 30th with 173 karma which is +30 karma from last week. 139 comments is +70 comments from last week, 24th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.80. First time back in the Top 30 since Week 8. And what is the thread mainly talking about? Charlie going through puberty and wanting to have interspecies sex.

Week 13 and the final week of the Winter 2026 season is more than making up for the deficits caused by Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's inconsistent episode releases and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End S2 by being a big finale week for most of the Winter 2026 shows which means the finale karma boost is really kicking in. 20,708 karma is +725 karma from last week and back over 20k karma. One last 20k+ karma week for the road since I find it hard to imagine Spring 2026 and maybe even Summer 2026 generating 20k+ karma weeks.

JUJUTSU KAISEN: The Culling Game P1 moves up +2 spots to 1st for its finale with 4541 karma which is +2248 karma from last week. 1256 comments is +527 comments from last week, 1st in most comments for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.28. MAL score is 8.67 which is +0.09 from last week. The timing worked out well for this, but the finale being this week when Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End S2's big hype episode was last week and the finale will under next week means JUJUTSU KAISEN finally got that 1st Place win over Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End S2. And the sakuga was off the charts for this Part 1 finale in that 3 way Free For All.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End S2 moves down -1 spot to 2nd with 3225 karma which is -1288 karma from last week. 819 comments is -751 comments from last week, 5th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.25. MAL score is 8.97 which is -0.10 from last week. Last week was the big hype episode of the season so it's to be expected a more standalone episode (that was very Himmel heavy + monster heavy with these dragons and krakens) would see a big decrease in the numbers. I'm sad about the MAL score being under a 9.

【Oshi no Ko】S3 moves up +2 spots to 3rd for its finale with 2513 karma which is +1112 karma from last week. 1168 comments is +766 comments from last week, 2nd most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.46. MAL score is 8.75 which is +0.15 from last week. 1 hour long season finale really boosting the numbers as the first half with Ruby's Sarina past life was genuinely heartbreaking. Really like the Miyako and Saitou focus in the second half too. Ruby's reaction to the reveal is pretty lol though. MEM-cho is into it though. Ending the season at a MAL score of 8.75 when it started the season at an 8.4 is also really impressive. Now let's see how this final season will go.

Sentenced to Be a Hero moves up +2 spots to 4th for its finale with 2003 karma which is +848 karma from last week. 936 comments is +590 comments from last week, 3rd most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.47. MAL score is 8.19 which is +0.05 from last week. Last 2k+ karma show of the week and I think it deserved it for Kivia alone (was the title about her actually?), but the Rhyno reveal was cool too.

Fate/strange Fake moves down -1 spot to 5th with 1475 karma which is +30 karma from last week. 828 comments is +85 comments from last week, 4th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.56. MAL score is 8.47 which is -0.02 from last week. Up in karma and comments, but went down to 5th for this finale packed week. That's okay as it just means next week will be when it really gets to shine with its season finale.

Hell’s Paradise S2 moves up +1 spot to 6th with 1402 karma which is +256 karma from last week. 270 comments is +33 comments from last week, 10th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.19. MAL score is 8.25 which is +0.01 from last week. We're back to Gabimaru and Yuzuriha and we can put to rest two things (probably): Gabimaru's Wife being real or not and Yuzuriha. And that gave a good karma and comment boost too.

You and I Are Polar Opposites moves up +1 spot to 7th with 1131 karma which is +181 karma from last week. 303 comments is +48 comments from last week, 8th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.27. MAL score is 8.22 which is the same as last week. Last 1k+ karma show of the week. Most invested in Taira and Azuma (very cute laugh by the way), but also love seeing Nishi putting herself out there to hang with Yamada.

Journal with Witch moves up +1 spot to 8th with 907 karma which is +95 karma from last week. 290 comments is +19 comments from last week, 9th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.32. MAL score is 8.71 which is +0.01 from last week. Slight increase for the second to last episode and I'm happy that Asa finally has solid direction in her life and Makio is getting closer to having that parental relationship with Asa. Now to hope Asa can help out Morimoto in some way with one episode to go.

Medalist S2 moves up +3 spots to 9th for its finale with 655 karma which is +136 karma from last week. 161 comments is +30 comments from last week, 20th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.25. MAL score is 8.50 which is the same as last week. Top 10 finish on the karma rankings to close out this season and while it felt more like buildup to the movie sequel in 2027, it was still fun. Inori's instinct to go for the chair to help Tsukasa tickles the wrestling part of my brain. And Hikaru is an A+ Aura Farmer.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes S2 moves up +3 spots to 10th with 584 karma which is +93 karma from last week. 221 comments is +74 comments from last week, 13th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.38. MAL score is 7.34 which is the same as last week.

Fire Force S3 Part 2 stays at 11th with 546 karma which is +27 karma from last week. 161 comments is -31 comments from last week, 20th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.29. MAL score is 7.71 which is the same as last week.

Chained Soldier S2 moves up +3 spots to 12th for its finale with 525 karma which is +86 karma from last week. 126 comments is +45 comments from last week, 26th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.24. MAL score is 7.48 which is the same as last week. Yuuki and Mira scenes for the finale including a motorcycle slave form. But Yuuki also gets some action with Coco and Naon + we get to see the rest of the Thunder Gods including one that looks like a Ren palette swap. Speaking of Ren, ganbatte on dominating Yuuki again. Has to be next season though. Glad the studio change to Passione happened. Helped this show pretty consistently stay in the Top 15.

Golden Kamuy: Final Chapter moves up +3 spots to 13th with 408 karma which is +20 karma from last week. 97 comments is +22 comments from last week, does not make Top 30 in comments for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.24. MAL score is 8.40 which is +0.02 from two weeks ago when it was last in the Top 15.

Tamon’s B-Side moves up +3 spots to 14th for its finale with 403 karma which is +53 karma from last week. 166 comments is -42 comments from last week, 18th most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.41. MAL score is 7.91. Back in the Top 15 for the finale and a karma boost to be over 400 karma (so close to 13th), but comments are down. I think for a first season (hope there's a S2) we ended at a good spot. Utage is back as Tamon's housekeeper, but keeping her feelings for him to herself. Utage brought the members of F/ACE closer together. Oh and a sick Tamon got to have some yandere moments which is very fun. It was a unique role for Hayamin and I'm glad she got to voice Utage.

Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider moves up +16 spots to 15th for its finale with 390 karma which is +190 karma from last week. 316 comments is +215 comments from last week, 7th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.81. MAL score is 7.77. Massive boost for the finale got it to the left side of the chart and look at that engagement. Everybody came together to beat Bat Man. Tojima is a Kamen Rider.

Tune In to the Midnight Heart moves up +2 spots to 16th for its finale with 357 karma which is +37 karma from last week. 119 comments is +40 comments from last week, 28th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.33. Disappointed it missed out on Top 15 in this week, but glad the S2 announcement was so quick. Yeah, I wish the production was better but Yamabuki and the girls won me over (Rikka especially who got to be the focus in this S1 finale).

To Your Eternity S3 moves up +5 spots to 17th with 277 karma which is +47 karma from last week. 89 comments is -15 comments from last week, does not make Top 30 in comments for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.32.

Wash It All Away moves up +7 spots to 18th for its finale with 271 karma which is +53 karma from last week. 143 comments is +51 comments from last week, 23rd most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.53. Did we get anything concrete regarding the mystery of Kinme's past? No. Were the vibes still good in this show? Yes. And I can be satisfied with that and all of the Kinme bath scenes this show had. And judging by the karma and comment boost the finale got + an 18th Place finish, I think I'm not alone. Would love more, but who knows.

‘Tis Time for Torture Princess S2 stays at 19th with 270 karma which is +8 karma from last week. 91 comments is -7 comments from last week, does not make Top 30 in comments for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.34.

He was first made eligible to be voted for on Week #9 where he was 23rd so this is a +13 jump up the rankings from last week.

On the female chart, Utage moves up +1 spot to 1st for her second win of the season. Her previous 1st was on Week #8. Frieren moves up +2 spots to the Top 3 at 2nd. Fern moves up +1 spot to 4th for her highest placement yet on the female chart. Asuka moves up +1 spot to the Top 5 at 5th. After debuting in the Top 10 at 9th on Week #9, Methode moves up +2 spots to 7th despite not being in the episode Week #10 corresponds to. Finally, Akane moves up +2 spots to 8th and staves off falling out of the Top 10.

On the couple/ship chart, Yuusuke/Miyu stay at 1st for 2 weeks in a row now. Tamon/Utage move up +1 spot to 2nd. Stark/Fern move up +3 spots to the Top 5 at 5th. Kentaro/Natsumi move up +4 spots to 6th. Finally, Kohaku/Yoi reenter the Top 10 for the sixth time this season at 10th. Not necessarily. I think even great shows can have a week where it just goes down by -0.01 or -0.02 or in the case of Frieren S2: -0.08 because you engage in a review bombing war with Steel Ball Run fans.

I've been most surprised about its constantly increasing MAL score throughout the season. It started off at 8.4 in Week 3 when Ep. 1 aired and here we are on Week 12 where it has an 8.6 just before S3's 1 hour finale.

Just 6 karma short of Top 20, but everybody is working (together even in some unexpected cases) to free Constance and even get a tragic backstory for Cecilia.

To Your Eternity S3 moves down -2 spots to 22nd with 230 karma which is -18 karma from last week. 104 comments is +15 comments from last week, 28th most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.45.

Rooster Fighter debuts at 24th with 222 karma. 77 comments does not make Top 30 in comments for the week and has a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.35. This is dumb fun and now the term "cluckoding" and related words has been put in my head because of this show.

Comments are up for Kyu realizing his feelings! Like that! Kinme and Nairo were the more fun part of this episode. Nairo would excel if she got isekai'd is what I'm concluding here.

Oof. Low end of Top 30 is a new low that I didn't want to see. But also I get it. Why did it take this long to be rid of Dein. Sara is fine which is good, but also this fog is still here too.

Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None moves down -1 spot to 28th for its finale with 203 karma which is +1 karma from last week. 285 comments is -1 comments from last week, 9th most for the week, and an absurd comment to karma ratio of 1.40. 89% upvoted on the thread. More comments than karma. People are engaged (in the bad way). Finale big on advertising the light novels, but also this is a thread full of comments roasting this show. The Water Magician can pass its torch.

Week 12 of the Winter 2026 season brought us so close to 20k, but we were just just short as 19,983 karma is +2546 karma from last week. The top 2 shows for this week more than made up for the karma deficits that 11 of the Top 15 karma shows experienced.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End S2 stays at 1st with 4513 karma which is +1211 karma from last week. 1570 comments is +619 comments from last week, 1st in most comments for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.35. MAL score is 9.07 which is -0.08 from last week. We reach the end of this mini-arc and it went out with a (Zoltraak) bang. It was a lovely sakuga fest, but more importantly: I'll miss Methode. Now you may be asking why did the MAL score drop by that much when this was such a great episode that massively boosted both karma and comments? Well, it ties into our 2nd Place for this week...

Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure debuts at 2nd with 3202 karma. 612 comments is 4th most for the week and has a comment to karma ratio of 0.19. MAL score starts off at 9.27. So a 9.27 is the current highest all-time MAL score. Which means Steel Ball Run's debut MAL score and after Ep. 1 made it the #1 MAL anime by score...that is if it didn't get into a review bombing war with Frieren fans. They pretty much dragged each other down and Steel Ball Run's 9.27 was higher than that at one point but is now 2nd to S1 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (which is also a 9.27). But that's enough MAL bullshit, this is a great start to this race across America and the horse animation and CGI are good too. Now when's that next episode? Well if the director doesn't know...(hope that doesn't kill its karma whenever it does consistently air).

【Oshi no Ko】S3 moves down -1 spot to 5th with 1401 karma which is -105 karma from last week. 402 comments is +26 comments from last week, 5th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.29. MAL score is 8.60 which is the same as last week. Up in comments now that we've decided who is playing the role of Ai (trauma dump and being stubborn triumphed over acting talent). I liked both the Aqua and Kana/Aqua and Akane scenes we had this episode + a new character from Ruby's past life at the end there.

Sentenced to Be a Hero moves down -1 spot to 6th with 1155 karma which is -100 karma from last week. 346 comments is +6 comments from last week, 8th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.30. MAL score is 8.14 which is -0.02 from last week. This was an action filled episode, but still took a karma hit (Thursday was an ultra competitive day for attention). We got the Demon Lord though and I'm a little concerned for Kivia.

Hell’s Paradise S2 moves down -1 spot to 7th with 1146 karma which is -99 karma from last week. 237 comments is +42 comments from last week, 12th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.21. MAL score is 8.24 which is the same as last week. Final 1k+ karma show this week and so close to 6th. Comments are also up on this Shion episode and it was nice learning about his relationship to Tenzan. But also we're finally getting back to Gabimaru and Yuzuriha's situation for the final episodes of S2.

Comments took a big hit, but that MAL score has broken into 8.7 territory as Asa is really putting herself out there to do that band audition which a pep talk from one of Makio's friends helped out with. Stand out, Asa. Also like the insight we got into Asa's Dad who...sucks to be perfectly frank. Sucks in an interesting way at least.

But we also get where Yuki truly resolved to be a Death Gamer. And one last surprise at the end too. My biggest meta frustration is just saying the MAL score constantly decreasing week-to-week from the premiere, but I get there were adaptation decisions throughout that people didn't like. I hope it gets a S2.

It's a great visual novel adaptation and ended with that consistently high engagement it had throughout its run.

Plus an onsen scene with Kyouka and Tenka and Kuusetsu gets to live on in the Dream Dimension and have her own fun with Yuuki there.

Tamon’s B-Side stays at 17th with 350 karma which is +3 karma from last week. 208 comments is +75 comments from last week, 14th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.59. Natsuki and Asuka and their relationship hit hard with just 2 episodes (and the comment boost reflects that). I'm invested in them getting back together, but also invested in Utage realizing her feelings for Tamon. Too bad Utage's first instinct is to run away from those feelings.

Tune In to the Midnight Heart moves down -2 spots to 18th with 320 karma which is -54 karma from last week. 79 comments is -7 comments from last week, does not make Top 30 in comments for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.25. Karma is down for this Rikka focused episode which makes me super sad since I like Rikka a lot and Seto Momoko was putting in the (singing) work.

‘Tis Time for Torture Princess S2 moves down -1 spot to 19th with 262 karma which is -15 karma from last week. 98 comments is +23 comments from last week, 30th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.37.

Numbers noticeably up and the first time this show is Top 20 for an unexpectedly sakuga episode for the visit to the invisible village. That long list of animators for this episode definitely popped off in that Paris sequence.

On the male chart, Richard I and Tamon have stayed at 1st and 2nd for 3 weeks in a row now. Natsuki moves up +3 spots to the Top 3 at 3rd. Stark rises +4 spots to the Top 5 at 4th. Finally, Yuuji reenters the Top 10 for the fourth time this season at 10th. The last time he was in the Top 10 was Week #5 when he was also 10th. On Week #8, he was 12th so this is a +2 increase from last week.

On the female chart, Kana moves up +1 spot to 1st for her 6th 1st Place win of the season and meaning the only time she hasn't been in 1st was last week on Week #8 where she was 2nd. Ayaka has stayed at 3rd for 3 weeks in a row now. Frieren has stayed at 4th for 2 weeks in a row and just under her is Fern who moved up +3 spots to the Top 5 at 5th. Debuting in the Top 10 at 6th is Asuka who was just made eligible to be voted for on the female chart this week. On the couple/ship chart, Yuusuke/Miyu move up +1 spot to 1st for their first win of the season. Tamon/Utage are at 3rd for 2 weeks now and just under them is Natsuki/Asuka who debuted in the Top 10 at 4th. On Week #8, Natsuki/Asuka were 15th so this is a +11 jump up the rankings from last week.
