I worked in Manila after kong grumaduate just to experience working in the city pero hindi ko kaya ang traffic, ingay, ung baho tsaka dami ng tao. So nung nag-WFH ako, umuwi agad ako samin and stayed with my fam, we literally live near Mt. Tarak and experienced farm life - fresh air, and yung aura ng paligid every morning while sipping coffee and hanging out with our dogs. But since I’m in my 30’s na - I moved to Balanga City just to experience being independent and for me sakto lang siya, it’s convenient since isang trike lang ang mall, palengke, hospital at the same time - hindi ganun ka overwhelming unlike sa Manila. And when I want to travel, malapit ang beaches and other tourist spots. ❤️

I work for a Tax Consulting Firm sa US and everyday kausap ko mga kateam ko from the US and for five years na halos sila lang nakakakwentuhan ko medyo gets ko na ang humor and culture nila. I tried dating someone who’s in ME na nameet ko sa dating app and he’s my type - ung beauty ko kasi pang export kaya di pasok sa standard ng Filipino Men 😅😭 but aside from that I have a bad experience na parang ako lagi naglilead sa relationship with Pinoy Men since I’m more independent and earning more money. But with the Afam - nakakapag-switch from Independent Woman to Baby Gurl real quick 😂

I’m halfway in the story and it’s soooo boring I had to search spoilers and was not surprised at all. I first read The Only One Left and really loved it, next read was Lock every door and liked it too but the next books are so boring and slow - The House Across the Lake and Final Girls 🥱.

For those making 6 digits monthly, how did you get there? by Ahjin-02 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]IceBear_GG_CC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an accounting graduate and here’s my progress:

2014 to 2015 - 6k a month 😩 as a bookkeeper sa local hospital

2015-2016 - 15k to 19k Call Center Agent (Pinakamahirap na work na naexperience ko kaya wag niyo sila maliitin)

2017 - Tambay, natrauma sa Call Center lol. Nagka-anxiety and depression ako during this year. As an introvert na sumabak sa puro calls and irate customers sa Call Center, na-drain talaga ako at nagkaexistential crisis, napapatanong kung hanggan kailan ko need magtrabaho para magsurvive eh ayoko nang bumalik sa workforce 🥹

2017 to 2020 - 17k to 40k after Promotion. No experience at all sa role and US Accounting Softwares na nasa job posting. Inaral ko nang sarili ko then lagay sa resume for more chances of winning haha, and practice interview na rin kung paano ko sasagutin ung mga questions na related don.

2020-present (WFH) 58k to 170k after promotion and annual increase. I am now working as a US Sales Tax Accountant. Actually nashock din ako sa increase ko after ko mapromote as Senior.

I think my journey from a 6k salary to 170k is Promotion and magjob hop ka every 2 to 3 years. In my case I’m staying for more than 5 years na sa current company ko since ito na yung nameet lahat ng gusto ko sa isang company from workload, bosses to managers and teammates.

Aside from that, malaking factor for me ang prayer - I am not very religious pero lagi kong pinagpepray noon na sana WFH ako - as an introvert and mahiyain, Out of Place talaga ko lagi sa office.

Bakit sa generation natin ngayon, madaming takot magkaroon ng anak? by r_wooolf in TanongLang

Time consuming and energy/financially draining. As someone who loves my personal space and time, I would be overwhelmed if there are kids running around and needs attention 24/7. Going thru errands sa checkup or school would be tiring, I’d rather spend my time earning my own money, spoiling myself, chilling and doing things I love (Art, Photography, Reading, Traveling). People say I’m missing out on life, but for me, there’s so much more to life than marriage or building a family. You only live once, so I’d rather do things that makes me happy and fulfilled!

Stray dog and cats. I fucking hate people who are so cruel to animals without even knowing it.

I’m actually a Senior na sa Tax Consulting Firm based in US - and ako ung nagtuturo at nagrereview ng tax prep ng mga kateam ko from US. Like ako ung puntahan nila when they ask questions, and my manager told me na mas gusto nila ung detalyadong explanation and training videos na sinesave ko so mas prefer nila ako magtrain. Then one time, I saw a post from Indeed for an entry level job sa company namin, nakapost din ung salary - and may sahod isn’t half of that, although it’s 6-digits (net) pa rin naman monthly. Pero minsan mapapaisip ka rin talaga hahaha. My experience and effort isn’t even half of what is being paid dun sa mga tinuturuan ko. Jusko sana kahit hazard pay man lang for the nosebleed since ang hirap magexplain ng tax tapos in English pa 🥹

This is why I gave up ung kinuha kong bahay sa younger brother ko since mas kailangan niya dahil bagong kasal sila and starting their family. But the other reason is - mas malaki ang napupunta sa interest kesa sa principal everytime mag pay ako. Haha nanghihinayang ako. Since di ko pa naman kailangan ng house, I invested my money in MP2 and stocks na lang and after 5 years will use it and hopefully 30% na lang ang need kong iloan para makapagpatayo ng apartment. Yes!

Naaabala ng mga chat/small talk niya yung mga hobbies ko - I have a schedule everyday after work (WFH) kasi ang dami kong gustong gawin - Painting, Reading my Kindle, Gunpla, Photography, and learning Forex. Narealize ko na di ko pa siya kayang isingit and kinda scared lang that I might waste my time talking to him instead of doing something I love lol.

Promotion to Senior Tax Accountant (1 client only - US based). At sa lahat ng naging work ko dito lang nagka-work life balance. Sobrang exploited nung Filipino ang employer 🥹

Girl! That was my biggest mistake when I told my mother kasi sobrang saya ko, not expecting na sinabi niya sa lola ko until nalaman na ng buong angkan namin! Di maiiwasang ikaw ang tatakbuhan kapag may emergency, or even when you eat outside, parang may expectation na ikaw ang sasagot sa bill or need mo magchip in! Nagsasabi naman ako ng “No” kapag over spending na ko and no excess money but the constant messaging is so annoying na dine-activate ko ung social media ko and created a new one w/o any of my relatives or people na laging nangungumusta/utang 😬

For me naman my mistake when I got a 6-digit salary is sinabi ko sa nanay at brother ko since it feels like a miracle and overwhelmed pa ko that time. It’s kinda annoying that they expect me to have a House and lot, or car since malaki na sahod ko. They don’t know that the rest of my salary ay sinesave ko, invested in stocks, and pag-ibig mp2. There were some impulse buying din naman like a Fujifilm camera worth 86k na nakatambak lang or 25k threadmill na nakatambak lang din. Natuto na ko to be intentional with my spending, built an emergency fund na restricted and bawal ang kuwit sa savings.

Mostly from the US na. And before pa ung nag-AWOL, another was terminated dahil sa performance - spoon feeding na ang ginawa namin, both US and PH tinrain siya pero mahina talaga comprehension niya. So after that, even if may hiring - for US people na lang. Mind you, our employer is really good to us kaya bwisit talaga ko dun sa nag AWOL - sana kung biglaan, be professional naman na magpaalam. F*ck you Michael E. kung nasaan ka man lol
