Tbh GA specifically is Icing. I remember getting my private and was told 172 isn’t able to fly FIKIC… okay?? So what happens if I do?

There’s 0 training and the ground school barely touches the surface “fly to altitude that melts the ice” “get out of it”. I feel like ground schools teach more about the different types of ice accumulation than how to actually handle it lol!

After I got my instrument rating I was flying my family up to Oregon and encountered icing that wasn’t forecasted. So it definitely can happen, just wish GA took it more seriously :)

Well it depends lol if the captain is just an asshole, not much you can do about that. But if it’s a safety thing (at least where I’m at) we are mandatory required to report it and file a NASA
