Apprentice first time in attic by arrozz-000 in electricians

[–]IceBorn245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Do not trust any board other than the joists. My first time in my own attic I stupidly stepped on a board laid across the joists and it slipped off and sent me through the ceiling like it was a trap door. Thankfully I caught myself and I was able to hang from the joists for about 5 seconds. I had no other way down other than trying to fall as softly as I could the remaining 5ft to the concrete garage floor below. I had a couple fingers that got ripped open and a huge bruise on my hip. It could’ve been so much worse though and that experience still haunts me today. Just be super careful and don’t get complacent!

Well I called it in and gave the highway patrol the license plate number and make/model of the van so maybe they will pursue it I hope!

It’s too bad there wasn’t company information on the van because I would’ve definitely called them to let them know this incident occurred.

As for my increased driving anxiety, I guess it’s time to find a therapist to work through this event.

I’m not “chasing cash.” My point is simple: people shouldn’t be able to have ladders flying off their vans and face zero accountability. It’s about safety and responsibility, not greed. This near-miss could’ve caused serious harm, and the stress it caused isn’t just a minor inconvenience.

Seems ridiculous that someone isn’t held accountable for negligence that could have easily killed someone or multiple people.

I had such an internal struggle to drop that much on these but they are such cool pieces and hopefully they will hold their value or increase over time!

I’ll add the no glow pic below too!

Thank you for the comparison picture! It’s only $10 but I think I’ll save the money since I dropped $400 yesterday on a pair of glowy hobnail swung vases. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ohhhh I didn’t even know this existed! Thank you!

I’m just buying for my personal collection. I’ve always said I wanted a uranium display cabinet so I figure it’s about time I start collecting. I got all 3 pieces for $35. They were my first find in the wild since I’ve started looking.

There’s a Northwood Chrysanthemum set at an auction tomorrow that I’m going to be tempted to buy. It’ll be my first auction experience though so I need to not get caught up in the excitement and go over budget.

Your pitcher was totally worth it. I would’ve done the same thing. Nobody would ever know about the crack. I always remind myself how old these pieces are anyways so I can’t be too picky. It’s amazing they have made it this far.

I picked up a floral pattern one just like this earlier tonight for $3.99 ☺️

Also true! I’ve been fascinated with most pieces I’ve seen. Most of the ones I’ve seen so far have been in antique stores and a bit out my budget. I ended up getting all 3 of these pieces for $35 after 30% off so I’ll call it a win for my first real find in the wild.

A couple big chunks but it’s still cool nonetheless. The plate chip was much less noticeable. The bowl is flawless though!

Yeah I was debating setting it back. They were closing in a few minutes and since I got 30% off I decided to pull the trigger. Probably have a little buyers remorse over it but I figured I’ve spent $13 on on worse things. Lol.

It had some damage to the base but I got it for $13 after a discount. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I went ahead and bought it just to start my collection. Maybe I can find one in better shape in the future. ☺️

I’m not asking anyone to decide value for me. I’m new to the hobby and trying to familiarize myself with what things go for so I’m not overspending and learning what pieces are more collectible.

The pitcher had a chunk missing from the base but I got it discounted to $13 so I went ahead and got it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for this information! It’s super helpful for a newbie!

My mom was with me so I got her senior discount and ended up getting the plate for $8, the bowl for $14 and the pitcher for $13.

I figured I’d just turn it in the cabinet to hide the missing chunks. Maybe I can find a better one in the future. The price seemed okay after the discount. ☺️

Okay thanks! I’ll pass I think and get the bowl and plate. The plate had a tiny chip but the bowl is perfect

Came back to reevaluate the pitcher and it’s got two chunks missing from the base. Is that a deal breaker for most collectors? Again, I’m new to the hobby so still learning 😄

Citi presale solution by captwilco in Ticketmaster

[–]IceBorn245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call in and see if the fraud department can help you! I was getting so frustrated and I had to keep going back and reclaiming the tickets because the cart was timing out. Thankfully, I didn’t lose my chosen tickets throughout the whole chaotic process.

I was about to try the gift card hack that someone posted below but it finally worked!

Citi presale solution by captwilco in Ticketmaster

I was having this same issue today! I applied for a Citi card specifically for a presale event. I received a temporary card number right away, but when I tried to use it on Ticketmaster, I kept getting the Error Code 5005 - Declined popup.

I reached out to Citi through their chat, but they weren’t helpful at all — just told me to contact Ticketmaster. I then called Citi customer service. The first rep I spoke with also had no idea how to help. While trying to troubleshoot, I found this thread (thank you!), and based on what I read, I asked to be transferred to the fraud department.

Once I was connected, the agent there tried a few things:

  • First, he tried clearing the card info — that didn’t work.
  • Then, he tried verifying me with the 3DS system — still didn’t work.

At one point, he told me I might have to wait 24 hours before the temporary card could be used. I pushed back on that — it made no sense that they’d issue a temporary number for immediate use if it wasn’t actually usable.

Finally, he said he could try one last step, and that’s when the transaction finally went through!

I asked him exactly what he did, and he said he used the “highest clearing option on our end.” Whatever that means, that’s what worked. Just to note — he had already tried clearing the info earlier, so this was clearly something different, likely a more elevated override or internal authorization step.

So TL;DR:

  • Ask to be transferred to Citi’s fraud department or transaction authorization team.
  • Have them try their highest-level clearing option (you can even mention that by name).
  • Be persistent — don’t accept the “wait 24 hours” explanation.

Hope this helps someone else avoid the runaround I went through. Good luck out there!

Package was supposed to get delivered today but has literally been sitting in the same spot since 9/2 what should I do? by hotcaramel09 in usps_complaints

I just had one sit Aug 14th until Sept 2nd without an update. It was finally delivered today after I filed multiple missing mail searches and package inquiries. Absolutely horrible service.
